I started a diet in September, I started at 296. I have lost 72 pounds thus far. I was a huge couch potato but today I just finished the Couch to 5K app on my phone. Im signed up to run the Color Me Rad on Sept 14th in Johnson City and going to run the Turkey Trot on Thanksgiving morning. I never dreamed I would be this excited about running. When I get down to 210 I'm going to sky dive as a reward for the hard work losing the weight. So looking forward to being in Neyland and not being so cramped. Hope everyone on here is having success with your weight loss too!
Just kidding. I need to lose weight too but I've been lazy this summer. What was your diet like? Did you do anything specific or just "cut back"?
Congrats on the accomplishment. Sounds like you are doing awesome!!! Keep it up!
LOL thanks. The first 2 months I just cut way back (1000 calories per day). I lost about 40 lbs cutting back. Then lost another 10 by walking 3 miles every night. Lost the rest the last 9 weeks running using the Couch to 5K app. Now that it is done I'm switching over to the Map My Run app to run a 5K every other day. Also slowly starting to do burpees. I'm 46 and thought my running days ended 15 years ago.
I HATE burpees. I would rather do any other exercise.

Thats freakin awesome! Congrats to you man! I'm stoked for you cause I know how hard it is lose a few pounds but 72 pounds is just outstanding! Keep it up and enjoy your new life!
BUTCH IS NOT FOR THE FAINT OF HEART. GO VOLS!
Yea my thought exactly. I hate them as well but man you can't find a better exercise. They make me hurt just thinking about them.
That's so awesome. I am genuinely happy for your loss (which is really a gain).
Awesome! Keep pushing!
That is outstanding, et! Sounds like you are one of the few who made good on our optimistic weight loss thread of a few months back. Congratulations!
It sounds so cliche, but good health is something that no one (except yourself) can take away from you.
Jumping out of an airplane is not my idea of a reward. A trip to the Mustang Ranch, now thats a reward worth working toward!
