I think these are intriguing. I agree with Wes that kids love these things. If that's what it takes to put us over the top with some recruits, so be it. Change sometimes gets people fired up, for example the Halloween South Carolina game. I hope we see these this year.
See what you hit; hit what you see.
it might just be me, but i'd love to see orange and black on home halloween weekend games. We own halloween's colors and we aren't taking advantage
Love that idea.

It's Great To Be A Tennessee Vol!
Halloween games only, Home or away depending on foe.
My school is not black. No need to aspire to the Oregon State look.
I graduated from Powell High School in 1977. When Powell was founded their first football uniforms where hand me down black and orange uniforms from UT. To this day those are Powell's colors. There is precedent for the black and orange before the current colors were adopted. I love the current uniforms but I have no problem at all with the idea of using the throw back orange and black colors occasianally . The baseball team incorporates the black into at least their caps and I love the look.
It's a historical fact that black uniforms were worn before the current uniform colors were officially adopted. Therefore the black is also part of our tradition. I have no problem with the color being used every once in a while as a change of pace. However, it should be used sparingly just as the orange on orange has been.

You should read RockytopATL's link above for the history of the UT uniform. We started out black. So yes your school has black in it's history.
They were black before they were orange, and all I'm saying is haveing an ALTERNATE jersey is not the end of the world. Tennessee will always be Tennessee, the players is what makes Tennessee football not the jerseys, when was the last time the jerseys won a football game? I'm not bashing the traditionalist cause I love the orange too, but a black jersey is also ok to me. Go vols!
I wish all our fans felt this way.
Our colors were officially adopted as Orange and White in 1892...we first wore Orange during a football game in like 1910 or something. So yes, we did wear black, in the year 1900. I would be willing to bet it was because of lack of resources. I'm ok with alternate uniforms that utilize our official colors. Black is not an official school color though. How come no one is calling for a uniform that uses the navy blue that all UT gear had in the 90's? Because it would be silly to have jerseys in a color that isn't associated with your school at all. It's like Georgia never coming out in a green jersey, even though I'm sure someone could come up with a cool green G logo
