then miss 1 bowl game.
That is all that has to be done according to his show cause from the NCAA.
Best realistic option out there IMO
If they where going to do this they should've got him after the USC game

Hiring Tressel would be desperate. There would have to be a lot of coaches say no.
Maurice Clarett, "tattoo gate" - there's enough reason right there to say hell no to Tressel, and remember the circumstances under which he left Youngstown State...
Not sure I buy him as a winner in the SEC. Plus, can he put the ol band back together or will it be a bunch of coaching rejects? I'd rather have Phil back.
"Count it down with me. Five, four, three, two, one.
The national champion is clad in Big Orange!"
Yea I say no. He left behind Youngstown and OSU with NCAA problems. People think hes a great guy because hes a sweater vest wearing christian but hes as dirty as they come.
He's a hypocrite if he's anything .
That might work. Hire him tonight. Let him sit out Vsndy and Kentucky. Next year we have easy wins in 2 of the first 3 games. Oregon is probably a loss regardless of who coaches. Then he comes in and coaches us to a 10-1 season. All that after he secures a top 5 recruiting class in Febuary.Pipe Dream? Probably!
I think a Big Orange sweater vest with the Power T would be cool. At least better than orange pants . . .
"Old School"! A strong defense wins championships!
Folks, if we're not on probation of any sort following Kiffie's tenure, we're still on the NCAA poop list following that and Pearl, and if anyone thinks we're going to hire anyone with anything other than a squeaky clean NCAA record, think again.
Not only do the big money donors oppose it, but it would at once increase the chances the new coach would be a violator in the future, and also mean the NCAA would be keeping a closer watch on us, too--a combination tailor made for sanctions.
So not no, but h-e-double-hockey-sticks no to NCAA problem children as candidates.
