Crisp air. Shortening days. Leaves anticipating their annual color transformation. The city of Nashville is buzzing. Car-mageddon has been declared as football fans overwhelm the highways and byways in route to the campus of Vanderbilt and to LP Field (mostly LP Field, but nevertheless) to witness the beginning of the college football season, or the end of the NFL preseason. (What's that? Vanderbilt vs SC tickets are still available. Yeah...but Rusty Smith is playing a ton of minutes tonight...) Anchor down. As James Franklin prepares his team, he shouts "Nashville is ready for this moment...are you!?! ESPN prime-time! Upset! This is what we've worked for...Nashville wants this night, needs this night! Look around you, let the screaming of 40,000 fans (or 35,000 - or whatever) wash over you. ANCHOR DOWN!" The mighty black and gold rush the field ready to claim victory.........and.........lose 35 - 14.
Sorry Commodores, this state -- East, Middle, and West -- is Orange. And remember, the one thing that Tennessee always does...
Go Big Orange
I am so glad I read all the way to the end. I am not one to downvote but you almost had me! Good thing I did see the end!
My all time favorite line from a 247 thread: Anchor Down is what I say every time I flush the toilet.
Please RTTT, my sides are already hurting from the laughter. +1
I hate James Franklin more than Calipari...well they're about the same.
The University of Tennessee Class of 2012
This is a fantastic line. +1.
cant stand either one of those tools - pitiful +1
Vandy's Offense was anchored down tonight
exactly right , would have taken a SC loss for the good of our team but having to listen to all the Vandy fans for weeks would have been brutal if they had won

"Count it down with me. Five, four, three, two, one.
The national champion is clad in Big Orange!"
