I sure hope not. I think this would be my nightmare scenario in terms of a new coaching hire. I'd rather sign Dooley to a new 3-year contract. After seeing how many programs/franchises he has lied to, he scares me.
I do believe if Petrino came to UT, the Vols would be BIG contenders again, very quickly. However, I'm not willing to compromise my values on this one folks. This man is not worthy of a snakebite. He could end up sinking our program just as fast as he did Arkansas'. No short-term success is worth that.
I've always had the suspicion that this man is a NCAA violation waiting to happen, though to his credit, he has no track record of violations. I just think a man willing to lie to recruits, athletic directors, NFL players and personnel, must be more than willing to lie to NCAA compliance directors.
Just wondering if any of you actually would support a hire like this. I sure hope this helped remind you how foolish it would be.

No way!!!!! He doesn't have any NCAA violations, but his actions speak of one with low morals, which could easily lead to big troubles if he thought it was the easier approach. I could be wrong on him, but I don't think it would be worth the risk to find out. There are other viable options out there if Hart is so inclined to make a switch.
Trample the Weak-Hurdle the Dead
Not here but he will get a shot. I'd imagine it may take a year or two but a lower level BCS school or a mid major will give him a shot wit some serious over sight I imagine.
If Kentucky won't consider him- no way in hell should we! That says a lot!
Might be the 1 guy who has less support than Dooley
I may get down voted for this but I'm a supporter. I'll support the hire as long as A) There's protection in the contract that protects UT incase he decides to go off the deep end. Such as but not limited to if he leaves, he can only leave fo the NFL or a non-BCS school or if he gets terminated for lack of moral responsibility, he owes UT a minimum of 50% of what he has been paid to date in contract and so forth. B) He hires a big time DC. C) He has to retain JG and SP. If UT takes the steps to protect UT, I'm good with the hire.
Your team. All the time.
Not a supporter of Petrino. I agree that he deserves another chance someday, but he needs to spend more time in the wilderness before landing at a place like Tennessee. Let him work his way back up and earn some trust.
No way. I'd be completely embarrassed by this. Way worse than Kiffin, and that was bad.

IT TAKES NO TALENT TO HUSTLE
He needs to start at the bottom and work his way up to prove he's changed before he coaches at a big time school again. He needs to coach at a FCS school, or the Big East.
Bobby Petrino has interest in returning to coaching at Kentucky, his father told the Louisville Courier-Journal...
