The article is not yet available for linking but in the paper this morning a number of recruits were addressed including Bell and Lawson. Bell's quotes about Tennessee were that we have been struggling and have a new coach. Reading between the lines you couldn't find anything positive about what he said. On the other hand, he gushed about Bama and talked about their winning national championships. It doesn't take a genius to see where he is headed.
The article indicated that Lawson is currently favoring Ole Miss and is intrigued by playing with Nkemdiche and playing with his Miltion H.S. teammate Peyton Barber. The comments on Auburn, made by his high school coach, weren't particularly favorable although he has talked to Garner a couple of times and doesn't have any hard feelings. We were mentioned as a school he has interest in but that was about it.
I'm not feeling good about either of these guys.
Well, they both have OVs with us coming up maybe we convince them then. Still hope!! GBO!!
Not to be a Homer, but....
You will almost never see the AJ Constipation say anything good about UT recruiting.
Unless their dogs have a bad season and get outrecruited by us. We seemed to have good articles there all the time during the Kitten fad. Really heated up during the helicopter visits.

From Carolina to Tennessee, Rocky Top is always Home Sweet Home to Me!!!
I wasn't too troubled about the Lawson section. It seemed to focus more on Auburn getting Rodney Garner, who had passed on Lawson while he was at Georgia, which seems to stick in Lawson's craw a bit. It seemed to imply that Garner being there made it more unlikely Lawson would stick with Auburn.
RTTT is right that Bell gushed about Saban. Carvell also quoted Bell on a misspeak -- he called our coach Butch Davis before quickly correcting himself. That,s probably not a good sign. But he made the point that he had delayed his recruitment to give his childhood favorite a fair chance after the coaching change.
It's like reading tea leaves and is almost impossible to tell where most of these kids stand without observing their body language or watching their faces. I would hate Ryan's job.
Yeah your reading way too much into that considering vonn bell had an interview the other day and said that he loves Tennessee because its his favorite school!
Haven't been to optimistic about these 2 guys lately.
Same... but nothing to do with the AJC.
The Atl rag is not Vol friendly, that being said, the program has a lot of fence mending to do both in and out of state. We have been an afterthought and the last staff made a tough situation way worse, alienating kids and coaches all over the southeast. Butch is going about it the right way it just might be too late for this years class...won't know until NSD. However, the 2014 class seems to be off to a good start and I haven't heard him complain about being behind and making excuses. He's a blue collar guy with a giant work ethic, he's gonna make Derek doofus look even more foolish.
Was he wearing the Bama gear that he has been wearing for several months when he said that?
