I had a class with Bill Duff while I was at UT and the guy was always scary. He always walked into class with a mean look on his face. I never really got a chance to talk to him. He always came in just as class started and sat on the other side of the room. He may have been a nice guy, but he looked like a mean son of a gun.
So many good ones being thrown out that I'm having trouble coming up with an original one. I always enjoyed Stanley Asumnu, but especially his last year in the Bruce Pearl system.
I'm going to name two old-timers who were great players and neither had great pro careers. But both were role players, stars, and game changers.
