On Twitter, I just asked this question: "What is the best HIT you've EVER seen by a college defender? If possible, provide us w/ a Youtube link."
If you get time, tell me your pick -- here or on Twitter: @Niebuhr247.
This isn't just fun, it will help me learn more about the program.

Just tweeted it but here it is here.
Janzen Jackson lays out Brandon James
"Count it down with me. Five, four, three, two, one.
The national champion is clad in Big Orange!"
One of the best I've seen in person is this one. Eric Berry is always good for a hard hit or 2.
Especially if its against Alabama.

Loved this EB hit as well.
This has to b the hardest one I seen. This play came to mind when i 1st read this
Leonard Little's hit on Freddy Kitchens has to be one of my favorites. Also, just the fact that we owned Bama in the late 90's too.
Sorry, not the hit I was talking about, but there is a hit out there of Little knocking Kitchens out and out of the game.

Stanford Samuels KILLING Rosco Parrish in the rain during FSU/Miami game
I'd say the three biggest UT hits I've seen were as follows:
1) Eric Westmoreland on some poor Vandy kid who wasn't looking in the 99 UT-Vandy game.
2) Gibril Wilson on a UK receiver. I forget the year, but it was in Lexington, and it knocked him out cold.
3) Herman Lathers on Bryce Brown in a UT practice three years ago. Both players got concussions and Brown's hip got knocked out of place.

EB vs. Knowshon Moreno (2008)
Eric Berrys hit on Knoshon Moreno 2008 NCAA season.

This one was great! Knowhon tried to just pop back up and when he did, he felt it bad. Loved seeing that one.
I was at the game with my dad, and it was awesome to hear the whole crowd moan "oooooooooh". And you're right, Knowshon was in another zipcode for the rest of the game.
I can attest to this: EW played for Marion County and we played them every year. He played both ways and ran the ball. I had the unfortunate luck of hitting him head on and it didn't go well for me. Although, I got a cool story out of it. ;)

I forgot about that one — another good one. That was the 1998 game at Vanderbilt. Not the hardest hit I've ever seen, but it was a good one.
It turns out the guy's name was Everett Robinson, according to this YouTube clip:
Eric Westmoreland, lineback for the University of Tennessee lays an incredible hit against Vanderbilt's Everett Robinson during the final regular season game of Tennessee's 1998 National Championship run. Eric Ramseur returns the ensuing fumble for a touchdown.

You beat me to the Westmoreland reference, although it was the '98 game. Here's the clip:
Dang it, I didn't see this. Good job beating me to it, Ryan.
I was gonna come say that Herm had the greatest hit I have ever seen or heard a few years ago in a practice, but I forgot who it was he hit. Thank you for reminding me!
