Three Big things...
1. Maymons Health
2. Finding a consistent Outside Shooter
3. Goldens Perimeter Defense
agreed , gotta have Maymon healthy for the season if we are going to compete with the UK and Al ; dont think that Vandy will be very good this year which is great news
Maymon's health will be huge. Could make a difference in 4-5 wins/losses.
Your team. All the time.
1. Maymon's knee.
2. Outside shooting.
Those are keys to being pretty good.
3. Can McRae finally translate his huge potential to the court as an upperclassman?
4. Trae's continued improvement.
5. If #3 doesn't pan out, can anyone else fill the gap and give us an a consistent explosive threat on the wing?
The last two/three are keys to being very good.
Did you just say Alabama? Is football going to your head?
The teams we have to "compete" with is the Zou, UK and FL. Yes Alabama is always athletic but, we don't need to aim that low.

McRae and Trae have really bulked up. If JM can add a little nastiness to his game, he'll tear it up.
I think Trae will continue to improve. For me the big question (assuming maymon's knee turns out to be ok) is on the wing. Jordan needs to shoot the three better than the 32.8% he sported last year and really, really needs to shoot better from inside the arc when he was at 42% that means being stronger with the ball and finishing with contact. That would probably help him get his FT rate up from the 30.7 he put up last year. Jordan could really m make this team a dangerous team. Honestly, he can even be a weaker link on D if he will just live up to the potential on the other end.
If he can't, then maybe Edwards can. I don't see Richardson as more than a defensive specialist and Chievous is an unknown. Skylar will do what Skylar does, but I don't expect him to suddenly turn into a slasher his Sr yr.
I'll take the 33% from 3 if, the 42% from 2 goes up. You're dead on about finishing after contact. Kinda where I was going with the nastiness comment. He's got to believe no one can stop him, and prove it.
I read it as "et al" as in, "and all," not Alabama.
he needs to be better than 1 out of 3 and he can be. He needs to be consistent with his mechanics. Reps and coaching, and an ability to stay consistent with his mechanics when his is shooting on his own. if he could get up to 38% then we should have three very good 3pt shooters. And the better he shoots from deep, the easier it is to get inside.
I think the key is what you said in the end. Get to the rim 1st, then outside shots get much easier. If he didn't shoot all the quick 3's he shot, his average would've been much higher.
