I do not want this to be a bash Bray thread, but is there any news regarding his projected draft status or why he decided to declare early? Does anyone know the type of feedback he was getting that caused him to jump early?
could just be that he thought with losing Patterson and Hunter, that his draft stock would only drop. Or, he just didn't want to go through another coaching change... I can't blame the kid.
It was never a surprise. We went into the season tninking he would go pro, and he did.
I wouldn't expect much news on draft status until the NFL combines start gearing up. Then they'll be more thoughts.
As far as his decision, I don't think there's been much contact with him from anyone. Seems like he's just holed up in Cali or wherever he is. But I'd agree that with Hunter, Rogers and Patterson gone and the possibility of having to learn a whole new system contributed. Heck, maybe he even got tired of hearing that he can't win a big game.
I understand he is taking part in the Jon Gruden quarterback camp.
I also think he saw how weak this QB class turned out to be and he, easily, has one of the 2-3 best arms of any QB in the pool.
If he has a good showing at the combine and/or his pro day, he's setting himself up for a big pay day.
