who has been the breakout player of the year for Tennessee and why?
PositivePete- Dasshatriggeman is a bama plant on this site. His dugie houser underling always up votes him.
No one really. Toss up between AJ "The Beast" Johnson and CP. Aj, probably because he has the most touchdowns and tackles on our team (okay, I know that probably isn't true...).
Neal probably should get considered too, he's done great thus far.
I'm going with Left Tackle, Antonio "Tiny" Richardson. He could have a big game vs. Clowney this weekend too...
The OL, only 3 sacks so far on the year.
This. To dominate at the most difficult position on the o-line as a Sophomore, when a lot if teams won't even start underclassmen on the line is very impressive.
He's done a damn good job against some of the best defensive linemen in the country. Speaks volumes he can play this well as a Sophomore at LT. He's my pick, by far.
Rajion Neal has exceeded my expectations.
The O line imo only 3 sacks given up all year and averaging 168 yg rushing.
Agree. I had wrote him off after last season.
I'm going CP. He's scored a TD with a run, catch, and on special teams. He's very talented and we were lucky to have him come in. Most importantly, unlike his predacessor (#21), he seems to have a fantastic team first attitude and not a premadonna. I've really enjoyed watching him.
Agreed the real deal Neal has been most impressive.....steped I expected tiny, aj, and cp to be great.....
What about the most improved/surprise ?
Justin Coleman has impressed me with most of his play.
1 Corinthians 16:13 Be watchful, stand firm in the faith, act like men, be strong.
Is this even debatable? CP by a mile......
No, it's obviously debatable. Any I don't disagree with any of your opinions. We've had quite a few players, and units, step up big for us this year. But CP would get my vote because he is garnering national attention with his on the field performances.

Tough test for Tiny and the O-line this weekend. Interested to see how it plays out on the field.
Your team. All the time.
The O line from tackle to tackle. And how 'bout that James Stone. Anyone seen any snap issues this year? And all others mentioned have valid points to make their case.
BUTCH IS NOT FOR THE FAINT OF HEART. GO VOLS!
Should be some great football! Looking forward to it.
I think you'd have to go with Cordarrelle Patterson, Rajion Neal or "Tiny" Richardson to this point. For me, it's hard to argue with Patterson even though he's in his first year at UT.
On defense, you could make a compelling argument for A.J. Johnson or Byron Moore. Johnson leads the team in tackles by a lot — he has 77, and the next closest, Moore, has 53 — and has been effective in the "Beast" package on offense, too. Moore, meanwhile, is the team's second-leading tackler and leads the team in interceptions (4) and passes defensed (6).

Thanks. Finally escaped the GQ
Thanks for posting, oldvolinal! We're happy to have you. Very glad to see you are joining the discussion!
I agree. It would be hard to choose anyone else over these guys. CP might be a choice also
