Butch Jones: You can never have too many OL or DL. We need more of both, and we'll have to get more down the road.

Butch Jones on Vols DL signee Jason Carr from Memphis: Everyone wanted him. People camped out at his HS every day. Thrilled to get him.
Vols OC Mike Bakajian: TE coach Mark Elder was the recruiting coordinator with us at Cincinnati, and he recruited the entire state of TN for us, so he knew lots of coaches and players and was huge for us with this class.
Vols OC Mike Bajakian: When Bray left and we knew we had just two QBs on scholarship, we called Riley Ferguson and were honest in telling him where we were, and that we needed to sign two QBs in this class. He was OK with it.
Vols DC/LB coach John Jancek: Certainly we'd have like to add more LBs to this class. We'll have to address that going forward.
Vols DL coach Steve Stripling: I didn't walk much about that with him. We talked more about getting him here and then finding the best way for him to be successful.
Vols DB coach Willie Martinez: "We can recruit the best of the best here. This is a great place, and everybody in the nation knows that."
Vols DL coach Steve Stripling: "We're looking for playmakers (on the DL), not just space-eaters."
Vols WR coach Zach Azzani: "What we did in 31 days was remarkable ... and from now on we'll have 365."
Awesome attitude at pressed. These guys are for real and mean business, and the attitude of "we want kids that want to be here" is president. I just have a good feeling about this staff...
i like his out look on the trial and tribulation, the storm has passed!

Your team. All the time.
Is there a podcast of the presser anywhere? Thanks
Was going to watch the exact same thing. I would like to listen/watch the press conference in its entirety
Found this video from utsports.com
Perfect. Exactly what I was looking for. Thanks.
Another class like this and Butch will be on the three year plan!

What is this in reference to Wes?
2013. Team 117. Beginning of the new Era.
While I don't disagree that Coach Jones is treating his players as if they are his sons, the reason he had the players introduce themselves was so that they could see us, not us see them. As part of his character building program he will give his players(and his sons) every opportunity to gain a measure of self-confidence by speaking publicly and having them look the audience in the eye to deliver their message. This goes hand in hand with the quote attributed to one of the recruits that said, "Coach Jones said 'always carry your briefcase in your left hand so you can shake hands with your right hand.'"
In his hiring presser he alluded to the fact that he prepares his players for the NFL in every way, not just on the field. While we may not have gotten as many ***** recruits as we would have liked, I really like what Coach Jones is doing.
