I think a lot of the things they try to quantify are very contrived for the sake of appearing ultra-empirical. For example, go to 1:35 in this video. The whole thing about Blackmon throwing his shoulder at 70 degrees in .23 seconds is just putting a number on something to make it sound scientific-ish.
Just a little over the top to me.
Ha! Yeah, I kind of agree that some of the things they try to measure are a bit pointless or random. But a lot of it's pretty cool.
I don't always love it, but I think some of the things they do are kind of neat.
