Good stuff. You don't see many threads with 40 plus up votes attached to them.
DTF, you're one of the more insightful posters on this board...I agree 100% with your comments and would only add that with our 1st Amendment right of "Freedom of Speech", I believe comes a definite level of "responsible" speech. I'm not trying to open a debate on that subject other than to say that a certain degree of responsible comment/opinion on Dooley & the current state of the program would go a long way to defuse legitimate concerns on the impact on recruiting and, let us not forget, morale for the team!
I'm not sure what the answer should be on the coaching change, other than I lean in the direction of giving CDD the full 4yrs unless there's a complete meltdown in Nov. I know there a number of members that believe we have to get this handled ASAP given the programs (AR, KY, Auburn) that are likely or highly likely to make coaching changes after this season and that the available coaches worth consideration will be taken off the board sooner than later given behind the scenes jockeying that is probably going on as we speak. I get that. BUT, as I've said in other threads on the subject, anything short of a high profile/game-changer/"Saban-like" hire, will be nothing more than a lateral move and a lateral hire does NOTHING! We'll be having this same debate in another 3yrs! We can all debate who meets that high-profile threshold, but I guarantee you there are VERY few choices and all kinds of reasons on why those few may or may not seriously consider an offer from UT.
That being said, I encourage ya''ll to support our VOLs and the coaching staff the remainder of the season and let the chips fall where they may! GBO
My earlier post was in reply to Down The Field...just to clarify
and thanks for the kind words

BUTCH IS NOT FOR THE FAINT OF HEART. GO VOLS!
You know what really kills recruiting? Dooley is an average (at best) recruiter who lets his assistants do most of the work. Couple this with an inability to win games and you are going nowhere fast. It isn't the fans' fault that the Head Coach has done a subpar job.
Sentimore disagrees... “It was hard to pick Tennessee, but Coach Dooley was down-to-earth, also. He’s kind of a laid-back coach, and I really kind of like that about him, so I think it helped in the recruiting process because I ain’t going to lie to you: I was about to go to another school. But Dooley, he’s a good recruiter. He’s one of the reasons why I also came here.”
Tennessee defensive lineman Darrington Sentimore, who previously played at Alabama, admits hes excited to play against his former team Saturday night at Neyland Stadium.
