I just want to say well done to all of the fans who attended the game. We had the place covered in orange and, judging from the ringing in my ears, we were very loud. I felt the emotion and enthusiasm from the start of warm ups all the way through the game and I'm sure the team felt it also.
I will say this however - if you were the "fan" in section 212 who felt the need to hurl a string of curse words toward the NC State band during pregame with all those little kids seated all around you, just stay at home the next time. We don't need drunken idiots like you. And you were lucky the guy behind you told you to keep it clean because the father of some of those kids was about to call security and have you thrown out of the game.
We were in section 120. We did not sit down ONE SINGLE TIME during the game while game action was happening.

I was in 121, there was some language, but nothing I wouldn't expect at a football game. We stood the whole time, my wife wasn't happy! haha
I totally agree. This is SEC football, not a movie theater. If you want to sit down and have an unimpeded view of game then stay home and watch the game on the couch.
My throat is still sore from singin' Rocky Top, but trying to sooth it with some Bud Lites before this race...
I went to Atlanta for one reason... to cheer my Vols to victory. Mission Accomplished. I gave my best for Tennessee. I know this because I could hardly talk yesterday. And yes I stood most of game. And from what I saw around me, a lot of others did too. But not all Vol fans share my intensity. GO VOLS!
BUTCH IS NOT FOR THE FAINT OF HEART. GO VOLS!
I know the NC state fans were dishing it out too, but I have to say that I was embarrassed by some of the drunk UT fans before and after the game. Drunk fans are the worst, but a drunk UT fan after a win is a terrible fan, second only to LSU fans.
I like to drink, and I love to cheer for the Vols, but I didn't play in the game and neither did the drunk punk that was cussing out every NC State fan they saw. I get it, UT won and we were all excited, but IMO there is no place for that kind of behavior.
I'm not some old curmudgeon either. But I know that had we lost that game, i wouldn't have wanted to be yelled at and treated that way. Just my
Great game though. Can't tell you how happy i was to walk away with a win.
just another opine. i used 2 stand might near the whole time and tuned out people who fussed. now things are different. i'm older and have a hard time standing for long periods of time. makes me sorry now that i wasn't more considerate of other people when i was younger. there is all kinds of people that love 2 go and cheer for the vols.
GO BIG ORANGE!!!
GO BIG ORANGE!!!
Haven't been thinking about it that way. I will from now on and hopefully I'll be able to find a good middle ground that can make everyone happy. +1
I see and understand what you are saying Tom cat, and if I see old people behind me I have much respect for them and common courtesy but the people I am talking about are not old but just too dang lazy in my opinion. If I don't want people to stand in front of me I'll save $150 and watch it at home. I'd rather do that than spend the money and gripe the whole time.
I didn't put this in my original post but at halftime a drunk a few rows in front of us just started power puking. I mean he sprayed three rows in front of him and cleared the people out. His friends hustled him out of there before the police arrived but the Dome had to send a cleaning crew to clean the seats and floor so the people could sit back in their seats. We could do without that also.
I don't know how everyone elses stay was but I'd give a big +1 to the city of Atlanta. Everyone was super nice and gave a big dose of Southern Hospitality. From door workers to Marta folks(well there was 1 that didn't qualify) to the Atlantians(?) in general everyone was helpful and cordial. Will most certainly go back. Hopefully in December. GO VOLS!
I wish we could have an entire fan base like this board. Our game day experience needs self-policing fans and some well armed "moderators". :-)
That would be great.
I could see it now. Wes, Ryan and Kevin ->
Thanks, OrangeNC! It was great to meet you at the Biergarten, and wonderful to truly turn Atlanta into South Tennessee for the first time since December 1998.
I was in Section 121, and we pretty much stood the entire game, as did everyone around us, front and behind. Frankly, it was too exciting not to, especially during that amazing first quarter.
Wow, look, Amerson is STILL getting lit up!

Section 109 next to band, other than the drunk behind me spilling beer on me 3 times, it was great. Nice to meet everyone at Biergarten.
