Everyone has an opinion on what needs to happen and why, My question to everyone on the board DO YOU THINK some members are more vested in what is happening at the University of Tennessee by contributing to the VASF? DO YOU THINK the fans who purchase season tickets every year no matter the record are more vested than others who only go to a few games? Should the athletic department have more of a commitment to those who support the University than those who don't? For example: A weekly e-mail letter that actually contains detail information that you can't get from the local papers or TV? Should there be more accountability from Mr. Hart, as the AD, to those supports who do pay the bills ? Just thought since many are upset with the situation, this might be a good topic of discussion!!!

As a season ticket holder, I'm very invested in what is happening. I believe we should get a weekly email or something. How Dave Hart handles this and who he hires will contribute to my decision into whether or not I continue contributing or not.
I also have season tickets but I don't think they should. Why would you give more information to opponents then you have to? That's the thing with coaching searches the less information out the more bargaining power the team has. I would rather be in the dark and get a good coach rather then know everything and get Dooley again.
The only thing you are owed as a donor from Hart is that he hires the best man that is possible. It's on him to determine who that person is, and then obviously it's in that guy's corner if the job is something he'll want to take on.
The answer to your question is yes. The athletic department needs the money to be competitive. Donors represent a significant portion of their income. I'm comfortable with Dave Hart's accountability. No issues here and other than a vindictive mob mentality from a small group of fans over the Gruden situation.
I have football season tickets and I don't want a newsletter or anything like that. Just a clean, winning program I can be proud of.
As a Tennessee Fund donor and football season ticket holder I can tell you that the main "benefit" you get is a steady stream of mail and email from Tennessee requesting more money. You are treated much better as a season ticket holder by professional teams. I am speaking as a Braves and Falcons season ticker holder.
This year was likely it for me as a Tennessee season ticket holder. The home schedule isn't that good and the travel back and forth from Atlanta has gotten expensive and tiresome. We'll probably go to Europe in early September and use our Tennessee money for that.
I'm pretty certain this was the last year I will be a season ticket holder as well. Traveling back and forth 8 hours/each way from VA is not worth it when the product on the field is bad. Lets face it without the big time hire we're not going to get the Jimmy and Joe's we need to compete with Bama, Fl, and UGA. I'm not interested in an 8 win team year in and year out, at least not interested enough to invest the time and $ into attending games.
