Curious what y'all think the next step might be for Dooley. And keep your "anywhere but here" comments. We all know that already. Think he will be able to get another HC job? Coordinator? Position coach? Lawyer? Stay-at-home dad?
I figure Saban will give him a job and Sal too. Probably give them a bonus for a job well done.
Best thing to come out of Alabama: I-59 North
Somebody posted a couple of weeks ago Bill Curry was retiring and that might not be a bad job for Dooley, but I really do feel like Saban will give him a job if one is available some where down the road if Dooley hasn't gotten back into coaching.
If he works, does that reduce his buyout? Just wondering.
If I am ESPN, CBS, or Fox I would offer him a job.
Honestly Dooley will go to a smaller program build it up too, they will have success and in 5-10 years he will be back at a major school and this time he will be ready and have some success. That's how I feel. That's if he can continue to coach he may be beat down too much too continue and if that happens he may be an AD somewhere and eventually become one at a major school. Bottom line he will have success somewhere because deep down I believe he can be a good coach. Just got in over he skies here and I think our core players maybe me guys not team guys and you cant win with them.
He either takes a season off or joins the Alabama staff. He will be recruiting against us.
Thats a valid assesment. I spew a lot of hatred for Dooley right now, but he hasn't been bad for the program other than his W-L record. He obviously needed more expereince to take over a big program like Tennessee.
Tv or smaller job
I actually think Dooley would be great on tv.
Count his money
I think he needs to take a smaller head coaching job if he wants to stay in the game though. If he goes to BAma or similar to be an assistant, he may never get a shot at being a head again. He needs to go somewhere where he can win and build a positive track record......like he should have had before we hired him.
I hope he becomes the head coach at all 13 other SEC schools next year, so we can go undefeated.
Perhaps he can join his buddy Mike Hamilton in Nashville? Hopefully, they will spend a majority of their time in Africa like Hamilton did while he was the UT A.D.
