Someone is going in all my threads and downvoting. If someone has a problem with me then say so. Don't just downvoted me every time I post. That is very childish behavior.
This also happens to me also. I am not going to sweat it any more.
There are only four answers to any question: Yes, No, I don't know, or the Correct Answer.
Down voting is childish. So is upvoting. Caring either way about strangers opinions
on a paid blog, is just funny!
I got you bud. It takes a big person to downvote anonomously (sarcasm). I'm all for debate and differing opinions. To those who just downvote, you give the board a bad name.
Yea I got down voted crazy for wanting more athletic guys to start over the type of players we complain about when they get ther commitment accepted by the staff lol...we are all grown
Wow, you guys got ex-wives or ex-girlfriends on here or what?
I would absolutely not worry about DV's. In my opinion, they are absolutely meaningless. Most of the time they just mean someone disagrees with your opinion or the way you said it. Sometimes someone hits the wrong button on their cell phone.
I mean, the problem with DV's is you don't know who is giving them or for what reason.
I think this is the biggest thing I would like to see changed. I want to know who is disagreeing or agreeing in general and not for a petty i want to smite you with my wrath because you disagree but i think it helps in the discussion
Post of the day, IMO.
"Bravely taking to his feet, he beat a very brave retreat." Sir Robin's Minstrels.
If you don't like someone's opinions then hit the ignore button and you don't have to read their posts anymore. Only time I DV is when someone is trolling.
Its not a stupid question until you ask it.
FWIW, years ago I was once a pretty prolific poster on a forum for owners of a particular sports car, and they had the star system, too. Anyhoo, one poster's young teenage son thought it would be funny to register, and have all his friends at school register, for the forum and just go online for the sole purpose of downvoting everyone. Yep, they were a funny bunch, they were.
Ya'll would not believe the HUGE reaction this caused. You'd have thought the Russians had declared war.
Anyway, people started a campaign to upvote everyone, but because I always ran between 3.5 and 4 stars on that forum anyway as an argumentative guy (tough crowd, and a lot of them were young racer-boy kids w/bad attitudes), after dropping to one star, I demanded everyone downvote me back to only one star. At that point, I felt I had a reputation to uphold as the disagreeable one, and wore that single star as a badge of honor.
It's always interesting to me how the rating system takes on a meaning of its own, often very different from one board to another. Codes of conduct are very different; what's expected is very different; how easily people get mad is very different; what gets people mad is very different; and whether many people even use the rating system at all is very different.
Here, I've kinda adopted my own personal policy of NEVER downvoting anyone (except by accident. D'oh!), but showing support for the upvotes. Other places I don't use it at all. It's seemed to become a part of the culture here, though, so why not? JMO.
Yep. I need to correct my previous post to state that I have, in fact, used the ol' DV a couple times on people who were obvious trolls. It's like a warning sign to other posters, in that sole, specific situation.
At least your bracket is looking good Josh.
If they made it where you knew who was down voting you, then down voting would stop all together.
Lol are you being sarcastic? I haven't checked my bracket on espn yet.

Just to clear the air from our little disagreement from the other day, Jtex87, I'm not the one DV'ing you. Just thought I'd let you know, so we can move on and no one is butt hurt about it.
"Count it down with me. Five, four, three, two, one.
The national champion is clad in Big Orange!"
Josh it's cause no one values your "opinion". J/k
Lol I appreciate it. I was in a bad mood the other day and looking for a fight. I apologize if I came across arrogant. I promise I'm a nice guy. Ask my wife.
Ha that's probably true.
No worries bud, and I apologize for my part in that shaningan.
