Why do we always try to go after pro style qbs like peyton manning why do you never see dual threat qbs on the field?
Watch ya know about dem Miami Boyzzz!!!
Josh dobbs can run we also tried to go after John Franklin but he's staying committed to Florida state but we will probably get a better chance at a dual threat qb next year when we have a whole year to recruit
Pro-style QBs have been the norm at Tennessee due in large part to the offensive schemes being run. Now that Jones is in charge, I think we will see more dual-threat QBs going forward.
i think if you look at it, CBJ ofense really just needs kinda a mobile guy not a Manziel or Newton but a C Shaw or Tee martin, can pass like the best but run like 5 for the first. Both Dobbs and Riley can do that so we will wait and see ya know? I think it end up kind like the Brent Shaeffer,Eric Ainge type battle aside I think Riley would win tht battle..seriously watch his vids(Ive lived in NC for a few saw him play) kid can do it all.
That is what I think Idk if it is the coaches or just the players that want to come here but it just seems like they are always pro style qbs like peyton I just couldn't place my finger on it why that was
I meant to put yeah I agree I feel like the quarterbacks will change with jones def. need to do something different around here
With Fulmer, he'd take the best QB and work the offense around him. Kiffin had a pure pro style offense therefore he dumped Taj Boyd. Dooley too ran a pro style offense and was inflexible with the QB as well. Personally I prefer a dual threat QB. The defense has one more responsibility to deal with. You just need the dual threat QB to be a loud passer.
Good sir agree with you completely you don't see pro style quarterbacks as effective anymore I mean dual threat quarterbacks and pro style have been split but anymore you see more teams going to the dual threat now that changes a defensive game plan around one more thing to worry about when your on the other side of the ball putting 1 to 2 players on the assignment to spy you just can't go wrong with that as long as their smart and don't take alot of unnecessary hits just think tennessee should see if they can get their hands on one I could see it writing well
Everyone forgets we have Peterman.
Not sure I agree with this. Alabama has won 2 of the last 3 NCs with a pro style offense and QB.
He was inflexible with the QB because his QB was inflexible. He was immobile as a statue and injury prone to boot. Not exactly the coach's fault.
Reincarnate Heath Shuler. Championships would follow.
I wanted to say this but seen you beat me to it.
There's a difference between a dual threat quarterback and a completely immobile quarterback i.e. guys like Ainge and Bray. Casey was no dual threat quarterback but he could run for a first down every now and again. These last two guys couldn't hardly run a quarterback sneak properly.
Yeah but they have a defense that wins their games and a mammoth off. Line man that isn't on the quarterback if we had that o line and defense who wouldn't win nc every year haha
