As a primarily pale ale drinker, Lagunitas IPA and anything by Sierra Nevada are hard to beat.
My sister bought me a subscription to Beer Connoisseur magazine awhile back and I read an interesting article by a beer taster who claims to have tasted over 10,000 different beers. He said the one beer brewer that stuck out to him was Harpoon. I've had a few different Harpoons and they are indeed delicious. I believe you can find them nation-wide.
As far as non-ales, I enjoy a good porter. As far as lagers, I enjoy Dos Equis.

Easy. Sam Adams summer ale or blackberry witbeer
If you like the blackberry witbeer, have you tried Abita Purple Haze? Really smooth beer with a touch of raspberry. I don't like fruity beers, but I like that one.
No I haven't. Where do you find it? I live in Clarksville. I personally don't care for sweet beer but I love Sam Adams
You can find Purple Haze at most grocery stores. Here's more info, with reviews. It isn't my favorite beer, but it's not shabby.
Ratings for Purple Haze; Fruit / Vegetable Beer style beer brewed by Abita Brewing Co. in Abita Springs, LA. 74 out of 100 with 1402 BeerAdvocate opinions.
My personal fav that is widely available is Fat Tire, but if you're ever in Chattanooga (or for you locals) Chattanooga Brewing Company makes a hell of a beer too!
Just enjoyed a nice 6 pack of Hap & Harry's Lynchburg Lager.
420 all the way
I live pretty close to lagunitas, most of there beer is excellent, there beer garden is pretty cool, the tours are very cool, the story of how they got started is pretty awesome. Can't say enough good things about lagunitas as a whole, plus the beer is awesome the Maximus ipa will appease any hop lover. I think them and north coast would have to be my two favorites.
I had an Arrogant Bastard ale last night. All I can say is holy $#|+. Very complex, lots of things going on at the same time. If you have a chance this is a must.
2 words: Stella Artois
Cherokee Red Ale (Calhoun's or Smokey Mountain Brewery)
IPA from Downtown (Knoxville) Grill and Brewery (I am not normally a fan of IPA's but this one is amazing)
no particular order, just good beer

I second the Sweetwater Blue and 420.
Calfkiller (little guy, Sergio's evil ass bullshit ale, and grass roots.)
Can't go wrong with a Corona extra with a lime.
#1 - Cold beer
#2 - Free beer
Wow a downvote for Hap & Harry's lol
That's been my go to for the past year.
