Hey guys, I'm looking for some ideas of golf courses in the area for our golf league that me and my buddies are starting in the spring. What are some of your favorites?
3 Ridges is always nice. Maybe im partial cause I play it alot, and I used to live about a mile from it...
We do alot of Golfnow.com rounds... Thats some of the best deals around.
We played River Island for 14$ a few weeks ago... crazy deal. Love that course.
Not sure if all of these are still open, but when I was at UT I played Deadhorse, Pine Lakes, and Lambert Acres a lot. All good value. River Islands is really cool too for a bit of a drive.
Rarity Bay is a pretty good track that's not real far from Knoxville, River Islands is also a pretty good one.
Willow Creek is always in the best shape of any public course I play. Love the Tellico village courses also. E Farms mentioned earlier is good and so is Centennial.
Deadhorse is a funny place... I'd love to see someone buy that course and put some money into it, Its got a nice layout.
Ever golfed up in crossville? We've done Bear Trace and Stonehenge, liked them both.
I like river islands as well. Gots some length which is a nice change. Believe their running a $20 special through Feb
Don't be scared to drive 45min to crossville. They have a Jack Nicklaus course called "Bear Trace" that I think is worth the drive. Egwani, Willow Creek, and River Islands are my 3 favs.
I have a great story about Augusta. A friend of mine got to play Augusta a few years back. He came up to a par 3 and was looking around the tee box like he lost something. He caddie asked "what are you looking for, Sir". He repied "a broken tee". The caddie took a new tee out of his pocket and broke it in half and handed him the top half and said "here you are, Sir".
TPC Southwind or Colonial (both Memphis)
River Islands is my favorite of the courses I've played around Knoxville.
Thats a pretty awesome story!
Love River Islands also but if you want to come a little further up Millstone in Morristown and Clinchview in Bean Station are good courses. Also like Eagles Landing in Sevierville and Patriot Hills in Jefferson City.

If you are ever up toward the tri cities graysburg hills is a top 100 public course. It is an excellent course.
Gatlinburg Golf Course! Expensive but nice and really fun course. 1 of the par 3's is around 1270 ft above the hole!!
And that's my favorite in the Tri-Cities. Wonderful layout. It would. be almost famous if it were not so far off the beaten path.
Three Ridges and River Islands are some of my favorites. I used to play Lost Creek about three times a week, it's not bad for a public course.
Have you ever played the resort course up in Kingsport? I think its called Cattails?
Rarity Pointe is a nice, challenging course.
my dad and uncle built Ruggles Ferry Golf Course in East Knox Co. Anyone ever played it?
Bear Trace and Stonehenge are the best that you could play. No doubt about it. Im pretty sure theyre ranked the best in TN too!! i play them a few times a year and will always go back. And im 3 hrs away!!! Cherokee cc is amazing and I play there every year in the Pat Summitt tourney!! Not sure if u could get on there tho!
