Lucky (Shannon Terry) and Noah are looking for your opinion on the next recruiting database developments. This is a great way to voice your opinion on what you would like to see for the site. It's on tBB so check it out. If nothing else read the other ideas.
We would love to have your feedback.
We just wrapped up the 247Composite build (few tweaks left) and Noah and I have been
Your team. All the time.
The red boxes are a "strength meter" of sorts, which tells how many sites' rankings for a prospect are contributing to his 247Composite rating. If all of the red boxes are full, that means all of the sources contributing to the 247Composite have rated him.

The profile pages look tremendous. Very comprehensive and clean. 247 is going a great job.
Thanks for the kind words, eric!
We are very happy to have you here. Thanks for giving us a try!
If you have any questions you don't want to ask the entire board, you can send Wes, Ryan or me a private message by clicking on the little white envelope in our avatar. When we respond, which will be quickly you will get a message in your inbox (link found at top right of page). Thanks again, and if' you are enjoying things PLEASE tell all your friends, relatives, co-workers, family members, neighbors, etc, about the site. All we ask for is a chance. If you give us a chance and we can't keep you here - shame on us.
Some things I would like to eventually see...
Camp Highlights: Josh Smith is a guy we all know very little about. I'd like to see highlights of him particularly how he burned Brandon Langley at Tennessee's camp twice. I think Tennessee's camps are closed to the public, so we won't ever get that video, but a lot of players are ranked higher because of there performances at these camps.
Staff Analysis: It'd be cool if there was a 30 second video of somebody from the 247 staff explaining the players strengths and weaknesses.
Location: This is something that would give the reader a better feel for why a player chose a certain school. For example, Reuben Foster. He is from Georgia, played his HS football there (up until this year). Not all of us know his HS is 30 minutes from Auburn. I think if you guys could fit like distance from their HS to the school interested would be helpful
Recruits HS schedule: If we live in the area and want to see where so and so is playing it would be cool to click on their profile and see where they are playing that Friday Night. Game result and stats would be cool to but that may be harder to get.
I will come up w/ other ideas but I think these in some way or form would be beneficial.
Obviously this is a big wishlist, but I like where your head's at. Especially the football schedules for the HS teams. If I remember in the VIP room we got updates on the commits Friday highlights every week so their schedules should be fairly easy to obtain.
question OT... people get on here and say things like "why did I get downvoted there?"... Well despite being on here as long as I have... I can read my score overall and see the 5 stars or whatever.. but I don't know how to look at how many downvotes or upvotes I get and I cannot tell when someone downvotes me or whatever... where do I look for that?
You can see the overall ratings for your posts (0, +1, -1, etc.) in the bottom right corner of your posts where the upvote and downvote buttons are. In terms of your overall rating and total number of downvotes, I don't believe you can find that number — at least not to my knowledge — but your overall rating, depending on your total number of "votes" (which you can see by dragging your mouse across your star rating), can take a hit from one downvote sometimes. If you have a lot of votes, though, one downvote (and one upvote) is not likely to make a big difference in your overall rating.
That would be a neat feature to be able to track and see your total up and down votes. I know you can see total votes, but I would like to see # of up and # of down votes seperated. Is this possible?
Maybe have when you expect the prospect to be reevaluated (best guess/ forecast) . Does it date when the prospect was rated too?
Ex: specific game or camp date etc. It can always be updated etc. as things change like seeing him early or if a player does not make a camp etc.
We usually add a timeline event to a prospect's profile every time his rating is updated, particularly if it's a higher-rated player.

Thats right..........maybe a future eval. forecast like a game or camp that is expected. Just a thought.
The only thing about that is we don't always like to tip off our competition that we're planning to release updated ratings or rankings. I'm not saying we'd never do that, but we don't always want to let everyone know exactly when we plan to do those things.
40 times and an academics meter, ie what's their chance of being eligible.
Media are really stuggling trying to produce on multiple platforms. It is too much to ask a fledgling enterprise like 247 which is already exelling in reporting and data collection, to be producing video as well. You guys have no idea how labor intensive, and expensive, it is to produce video.
Maybe when you click on the coaches name in the player profile (who is recruiting the player) a list of the players the coach is recruiting for 2013 is displayed/listed plus former years could be searched to see who he landed/ recruited.
KR, also think this function would be useful and provide better insight into a coaches workload as a recruiter
to the board! Happy to have you here. Please post often!
As a matter of fact, we already have pretty much the exact function you described. I'm sure there are still some features we'll add to the page, but right now, if you click on a coach's name, you can see his coach profile, which includes a list of his top current top targets.
I see it now when I expand the list of players but it is kinda confusing.
2012 and 2013 and 2014 commits/ targets all mixed in together (at least the few I looked at). Maybe we could separate it by year better. JMO
The 247Sports rankings are determined by our recruiting analysts after countless hours of personal observations, film evaluation and input from our network of scouts. Players are ranked by position, grouped qualitatively with a star ranking and given a numerical ranking based on their future potential.
