Just did, thanks for the tip. I really liked the Sound of Sunshine best so far. I subscribed to him so I can remember to check out some more this weekend. Good stuff, just can't put my finger on who he puts me in the mind of...
Ahh, the joys of senility...
Some cause happiness wherever they go; others whenever they go.
My father AKA Tonytn is a big music buff of the 60s, 70s, 80s. I am going to tell him to get in here. I am sure he will have plenty of good things for you guys to check out if you love that era of music.
There are only four answers to any question: Yes, No, I don't know, or the Correct Answer.
Guys we don't even need rap music watch this video it gives me chills http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=ErJo2CpAYps
I'm not gonna lie we have the quietest 100000 fans in the nation we need to pump the crowd up and wake up the 50000 blue hairs we got sitting in those seats we need to do aANYTHING....ANYTHING to wake up neyland stadium who else agrees with me?
There was a older couple in my row at the game I'd say in their later 50's to 60's and the DJ started playing Juicy J "Bandz will make her dance" and the started dancing like teenagers. Haha I thought is was pretty funny. But it's cool when older people have fun with it instead of " oh turn this garbage off" or "what is this thug Music they are playing" . I understand the content and language in some isn't the best ha. But the younger generation likes it. Mainly the players. Just try to have fun with it like the couple I saw! Also the Pride is one of my favorite things at the Ut games, so they should play whenever they want. But incorporating new music into the selection is a good move. Also, just saying I LOVE ROCKY TOP. JMO. But other than that I love everything else!
I have been in person for this. It sounds loud on this video, but it isn't as loud as it sounds in this video. Heard Neyland louder before. The big house is the quietest 100000 in the nation.
Copeforvols I agree. That is one problem. But we shouldn't get started on that. The younger people get shredded when we complain about the old people at the games who never cheer. They make the Athletic Dep run. But if you are going to come to a UT football game and not cheer, then you shouldn't even come. I'd love to see Neylad Stadium packed with a raucous crowd. Just going crazy loud the whole game.
I know but just everyone going crazy this is what we need to do for games to get everyone excited
I totally agree I'm 21 and go to as many games as I can afford to and it's just unbelievable when I'm getting loud and cheering people stare At me like I'm the one that's doing the wrong thing by being loud
I am all for doing something like this, but it would have to be original. I don't want us stealing from somebody like South Carolina or Wisconsin. Yes I heard Jump around played at Neyland last year and I am not down with that at all. That is Wisconsin's deal. We need our own.
Ya we definitely don't need to copy anyone were Tennessee and we have/create our own traditions and I think we can come up with some amazing stuff if we really get to thinking about it
Although this is DARN impressive. Listen to the girl in the background when they start jumping.

Is it just me or do they have a wayyyyyy bigger student section than us? And I would love if they did something like that at the UT games.

Pepe hit it on the head. I listen to most anything... except rap. Just never did do it for me. Nothing against the music, just not my thing. Used to like heavy metal back in the day too, but nowadays I find most of it uninspired copy-cat, soul-less stuff. Same beat, etc. I mean....... there are still songs by AC/DC, BS, Scorpions, Aldo-Nova, etc that I like, but most of it is well.....never mind.
My playlists run the gamut from "The Highway Men" to Queensryche to Buckethead. I like blues, pop, reggae, funk, classic rock, country, techno, and most anything else. I really like music with some soul and inspiration, real musical and arrangement talent.
Much of the stuff of today is too computer generated or computer altered. They can make anyone sound good nowadays (JB and LG for instance).
Music groups such as Led Zep, Fleetwood Mac, Eagles, Pink Floyd (with David Gilmour), Kansas, and many others set a whole new writing, arrangement and performance standard for music which quite frankly...... hasn't been met but on rare occasions since.
Music is tonic for the soul and spirit. I agree that at a ballgame, music should be played. However, I think the type of music and song played should be matched to the situation on the field at the time. I mean, if there is a situation, someone has written a song that matches it somewhere. The band is an integral part of the game and shouldn't be removed by any means, but there are dead times when some popular music would be a better fit.
For an excellent concert, check out this gem: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yw3b0ESOwTs (Last concert that Richard Wright performed in before his sudden death.) All star musical cast in this one - introduced about mid-concert.
What gets Tennessee fans jacked up is the Vols kicking that ass. A three touchdown fourth quarter lead over Bama and they could break out the Big Joe Polka Show. No one would notice.
word on the street is Butch is getting a Smokey howl ready for games this year. that'd certainly get me amped! I've always wondered why we never had something like that
Hell guys I say they need to play some damn "greatest hits of the 80s" with, alittle bit of Kid Rock on the side, if you can't get pumped up to that you ain't alive. You can throw in some Eddie rabbit, and Journey if you'd like also.

Most would be pretty lathered up with the stuff that comes in the metal flasks by that point. Charter with the Nail on Head. Also TonyTn with what I knew would be good musical selections.
