That hit that EG had on ML was a legal hit, and there are some sayin it was dirty but,say he went high and ML lowered his head and EG hit him head to head and he broke his neck, illegal hit, or he gets a concussion illegal hit. Then what? He hit him low, LEGAL hit unfortunate ACCIDENT. They will eventually change the rules again were a DB can only hit a player from the chest to the hips, and anything else is illegal. I for one do not want to see that change, least they change it from tackle to two hand touch. Eric Gordons hit was legal and made every sat. In college football.

That play happens 100 times a game.. if they start putting those rules in ill start watching something else
Just an unfortunate football play. IMO But with the direction that football seems to be heading, I wouldn't be shocked to see a new rule come from it.
Anyone who has ever played organized football understands that when you are making a play, it all happens so fast that it's impossible to not have injuries like this from time to time.
It wasn't a fundamentally sound tackle- but there again I have not seen one of those all year from this D. The same tackling cost us a TD on the third and 25 play.

You got it. It's almost like our secondary isn't taught to use their arms to wrap opponents up. They'd rather just try to lower their shoulder and make a blow. No one teaches people to tackle like that.
as a south carolina fan i dont think the hit was dirty, nor do most gamecock fans, especially after they got over the shock of the young man getting hurt. sometimes people overreact in the heat of the moment
its football, it could happen to anybody on either side. nobody with any sense thinks it was a dirty play
it sucks big time, mostly for marcus lattimore. the depth of the reaction on the part of our fans is due to how hard the guy worked from the day he stepped on campus, kept his head down went to class & set an example for the rest of the team even as a freshman
it sucks he got hurt. but i think he will graduate & make a good citizen no matter what happens with football. but i would not write him off either.
it sucks but it sucks when your guys get hurt, sometimes there is dirty play but what happened to ml was just football. the game is fast played by violent people
though your defense was not overall that violent. in fact the defenses looked pretty out of it on both sides
yeah and your guy was sorry that boy got hurt but he was just ballin
i dont think the hit was dirty (at all), but that tweet was insulting
What tweet? And someone give him an upvote please. I accidentally hit the downvote button.
tweets aside; it definitely meant alot for yalls team to come huddle up by marcus
was spontaneous class act ..
in the stadium, there had to be at least 25k people crying during all of that
It would be nice if the coaches actually taught the players how to tackle. That play EG used horrible form and just dove at the knees.
I think Eric Gordon tweeted a not-so-great apology. I don't remember it exactly, but I remember thinking when reading it that it wasn't thought out very well, IMO.
That's actually considered fundamental these days. No longer are you trying to wrap up these big, strong RBs. You're taught to dive at the legs, which include the knees and drive through the ball carrier. I can't watch the replay and I think I saw him maybe barrel into him with his back to him. Maybe that wasn't so fundamental. But the whole idea of "wrapping up" these days on a bigger ball carrier like that are gone. They teach to drive through the ball carrier and take out the legs.
