IMO these uniforms are hideous and a total disregard of tradition. I hope the Vols never do anything like this. The helmets especially. What are they thinking? What would Rudy do?

"Count it down with me. Five, four, three, two, one.
The national champion is clad in Big Orange!"
Adidas is trying there best to kill tradition. Hopefully UT dont let it happen.

Then you better hope to keep Dooley.......the next coach very well might end our tradition but Dooley will NOT.
ND and Nebraska fans are hating this.......at least the ones I have talked to.
I'm not against changing things up every once in a while, but wow, these uni's are terrible!
These uniforms are horrible, but if UT wins this year and becomes nationally relevant again, adidas will ask the same thing from us. Their jersey's from the shamrock game last year were ok imo.
I don't think wearing black jerseys against SCAR killed tradition, and I actually think changing jerseys once per year brings more attention to the traditional uniform.
Agreed. What in the name of Knute Rockne are the Irish thinking?
IT TAKES NO TALENT TO HUSTLE
In other news the Golden Dome has been demolished to make room for a neon casino and whorehouse.
If the players like it, and it can help recruiting by creating excitement, I have no problem with it.
I was at the game when we had black jerseys, and that was the most electric environment I have been at in Neyland in a LONG time.
I'm not a ND fan, but if I were. I would imagine thatThe Four Horsemen, Rockne, and The Golden Dome are all crying. Thanks kyvol for sharing.
I really have no problem with the black jerseys we wore, but if we wore some ugly weird helmet with a chalk drawing of some kind of a robot smokey on it I'd have a problem.
I hope we never do anything like Notre Dame does

I love the helmets and wish UT would spice up the unis every now and then...
This sums up my opinion. I like creating some buzz by mixing things up every now and then....but these are pretty hideous.
Amen they are atrocious
Now that everyone is doing some sort of uniform variation, at some point being completely traditional will become cool again.
Also, winning is the best recruiting tool. Alabama doesn't need this flash to recruit at the highest level.

I agree in that this particular uniform is bad...really bad. But it's only one game a year. It'll be ok, they aren't ruining tradition...besides they abandoned tradition when they quit winning big games. Please don't down vote me it's just my opinion.

I'm really disappointed schools like Notre Dame, Michigan and Nebraska are letting apparel companies have this kind of influence. I understand why schools like Oregon, Maryland and Oklahoma State do the funky jersey thing -- it's a cool way to position themselves with recruits and fans, and they don't have revered national brands getting in their way.
But the appeal of the Michigans and Notre Dames of the world is their tradition. When they undermine their brands with gimmicky jerseys, they show they're willing to sell out to make a few bucks. I thought they were better than that.
As much as we all hate Alabama, the Tide are a tremendous example of a school not allowing an apparel company to taint their jerseys. Their pro combats were almost identical to their regular jerseys, with only a subtle houndstooth touch. They looked good without compromising their tradition.
Touchdown jesus' arms just dropped.
These are awkward. Too storied of a program to make uniform changes like that, imo.

We are TENNESSEE! An occasional and slight variation is ok but wholesale change is out for me.
Jersey/uniform talk always gets everyone on here fired up, but you would be crazy if you think Tennessee hasn't already seen multiple options from Adidas. It's all about sales to a new generation and Adidas wants to get there new brand identity out there in as many eye catching ways possible. The pressure from Adidas is already there, it's all about when and to what extent the Athletic Department will except changes.
FWIW I think the basketball team which has continually changed uniform styles could be the best place to test the water with fans in a uniform overhaul.
I agree with u puddin about spicing up the helmets I think it's going to happen at some point the university is going to have to go after the younger crowd neyland stadium is not what it used to be and there starting to loose support I know winning will bring that back but the common fan is staying home and not buying tickets and they will try to fill the seats one way or the other jmo
