and then dare the SEC to suspend him. Why does Alabama get away with everything?
I've seen it commented on Twitter, but havent seen the video. Anybody got a YouTube clip from the Mizzou game where this happened?
Ok, i'm sure I'm having a brain fart. What is DDT? Whatever it is, I probably whole heartedly agree!
It's not a DDT, it's a suplex. Not a dirty play IMO if the whistle wasn't blown.
Alabama player LaMichael Fanning total cheap shot on Missouri Running Back late in the game when both teams were killing the clock. Following 2 plays Fanning gets whipped up on by Missouri linemen.
You are now complaining Alabama tackles too hard?
Its would take a pretty big dude to perform that move on Eddie Lacy. Mizzou needs to recruit some SEC size backs.
He didn't get away with it with Saban. Lacy had to write a letter of apology. Pretty humiliating. My opinion of Saban went up after that.
That just shows how much you don't know about fundamental football - the whistle does not end the down, the runner being down or the ball being dead ends the down. All the whistle does is let 22 players know that the down has ended and the ball is dead. A dirty play is a dirty play whether the ball is dead or not and the Fanning play was a dirty play. Learn the rules.
I was joking dude take a chill pill. Of course it was dirty and not necessary. I know the rules worry about yourself and stop trying to act smart.
I'm not a dude, you worry about yourself.
This thread might be my best.
I've got Bama rabbit ear people showing up, and now Vol fans fighting.
Must be the 3rd Saturday in Oct!!!
That's crap, that belly to back suplex was much worse than what James Harrison got fined for doing to Vince Young.
Dude, dude, dude you need to take a chill pill. Secondly, and to your point, the runner wasn't down and the ball wasn't dead. It was, however, unnecessary and appropriately got penalized by the refs for it. Thirdly, it is likely the SEC didn't suspend him b/c Saban told them he was going to do it. Saban never announces suspensions publicly, but when asked this week, he declined to say what his penalty would be. Don't be surprised if he is not playing.
It's worse than the helmet hit the South Carolina player got SUSPENDED FOR!!!
It's the fact that the SEC continuously pats Bama on the back for everything. There's a reason the SEC offices are in Birmingham!!
When I saw that clip on ESPN I was just like wow ... it's very impressive. Could have seriously hurt the kid though so I didn't really like that he did that.
but on 2nd thought what are some other nice wrestling moves we could teach our players to execute?
Pile Driver, People's Elbow, Stonecold stunner, tombstone... some of my personal favorites.
Would be nice if some of our defense/ST players could perfect a spear. Even a schoolboy rollup might help them finish some tackles and get a runner down.
I did think that a german suplex on a guy with 2.30 left in a blowout game was very excessive though. He could've easily just dragged him to the ground.
Until I see a power bomb I won't be satisfied!
I think AJ Johnson had a similar tackle in the Georgia game. A runner can't press forward if his feet aren't on the ground. It looked bad, but wasn't too terrible. It was probably made worse because the game was a laugher. JMO.
The prpblem is when you take somebody down like that and they hit the ground above the shoulders. You can't do that in wrestling, either.
Kid should have been kicked out of that game and the next. How can you say you do this and that for personal safety and let that go unpunished?
The guy is like 4th string. Well, I guess that likely means he will play against UT :)
