Posted this In a thread but everyone should consider this. Just presses my buttons a little bit.
Really? I mean lets let it go. The continual jokes and bashing ticks me off. I mean yeah he made mistakes and he needs to learn from them. But which one of you didn't make dumb choices when you were young? What does this say about our fan base that we continually bash and disgrace somebody who played for the college we root for? It's very easy to make jokes at someone else's mistakes and failures. Just saying. It's old. Like the Dooley jokes. Lets move on and grow up. I understand mistakes have consequences and Bray had paid the consequences. All of the continual bashing and joke making Is shameful. He will have to get his head on straight. I know he made mistakes but the unwavering and relentless bashing he has taken from this fan base, I don't blame him for leaving for that sole reason. I love UT. But if I played here and made a few mistakes, but played for a coach who had nonsense of authority and taught no discipline, but tried on the field. Look I know he couldn't make checks or read defenses, that's from lack of film watching, that's not all his fault. If the coaches didn't emphasize it to me as a 18 or 19 year old kid and I had motivation problems anyway do you think I would watch film? No. Bray thought he could get by with doing as little as possible.... That sounds a lot like Derek Dooley. Once again, the leader and coach of the team sets the ultimate example and we know how Dooley was. I'm not getting in to that. Just let's leave it in the past now and root for him that he gets his head on straight and has a very good career. That's my two cents and was having a hard time keeping it in. I'm behind Bray 110%. I just can't understand why the older people who are supposed to set examples for the younger generations as myself expect us to learn any better when grown adults are bashing someone our age for mistakes he has made. I believe it speaks volumes more about the adults in our society rather than the kids. But hey that's just the view of a 18 year old. GBO
How does an 18 year old have to step in a the voice of reason? That is telling.
Fans should probably think back to how they treated Foster and realize how dumb they feel now that he is an all pro...
We do t learn our lessons easily.
And the reason he has been back 1 time since he left.
we hold are best players on a pedestal and when they dont accomplish what we say they should we turn on them.
Dooley was an enabler and deserves some blame but in the end Bray got what he put into it!
His teammates essentially accused him of throwing the 2011 Kentucky game. That's unforgivable. Screw that guy.
They did? Where are the quotes on that? What I remember is a guy whose thumb was still bothering him and he had a 102+ fever during the game. There are plenty of reasons to suspect that Bray shouldn't even have been in that game.
So when anyone is accused of something I guess you feel they are guilty right off the bat. I would hope people would not jump to judge someone they do not know on a personal level and does not know the whole story. I do not claim to know his story as I do not judge him for something I can assume. I will root for him to do well in the pro's and in life.
I would hope that we all can get behind him and wish him the best.
Sad that someone DVd this
I got him a +1 to offset.
I never bash a player, there's never any good that could come from it. Bray made some bad decisions while he was at UT, so did I, when I was his age. Was Bray ready for the NFL....NO, but he wasn't going to get any better had he stayed another year, because I don't see him running a spread option offense. So Bray made the only realistic decision he could with the options in front of him, go pro or play sparingly because of a new style offense that wasn't suited to his skill set, IMO.
All that with only 1 recover, and ZERO running game!
I have made my fair share of jokes...but Bray wanted to play that game, probably shouldn't have...the kid had some maturity issues, but he is ours...calling someone out on something realistic, to me is totally acceptable - but to assume he quit is just a bit out there IMO, and there is really no place for that.
Joe. Tiller. He's the name you need to remember when it comes to Brees and Orton.
