There were reports everywhere about him and Da'Prick tanking that game because they didn't want to go to a crappy bowl game. The seniors brought it up. Y'all seriously don't remember?
Hearsay is not evidence. Seniors bitching because they had nothing to lose by saying it and were pissed their season was over...oh ya, they're the best sources.
Excellent job vols 8. I got down voted in another thread for saying the same thing, just not as eloquently as you just did. I agree 100%
And what they need to understand is I'm not excusing him from everything and in love with Bray. He was lazy, he didn't really care, but he is paying for his choices now. I just don't see what makes it necessary for grown men to continually bash someone who played for UT who is 18 or 19 years old. Who as did every other older person make stupid mistakes and go through rebel phases. I'm saying grow up and let's move on. I wish him well and hope he gets his head on straight because he has talent. But it's all between the eyes for him.
"Bravely taking to his feet, he beat a very brave retreat." Sir Robin's Minstrels.
there weren't any reports refuting those sources though. Seems like someone would have come out and affirmatively put to rest the rumor that our starting QB and WR sabotaged our bowl chances.
I'm sure we will hear many more instances of these 2 guys putting themselves before their team in the next couple of days just like the stories that popped up about Dooley once he got canned.
Edit-and to the OP, this is a college fanbase, a very passionate one at that. I know you don't remember this but people got on Peyton and Phil when they couldn't be Spurrier all those years. So this isn't anything new and shouldn't be surprising to anyone especially considering how we treated Arian Foster. This too shall pass.

+1 to you (as usual) for bringing some good stuff to the board!
Here is the Detroit Lions scouting report on Tyler Bray.
I don't think I disagree; I guess "move on" is relative. Has the topic been worn out since yesterday? Probably. But I've only seen a couple folks with truly unfair, below the belt slams.
On the other hand, if someone were to bring up the topic of Tony Robinson being a cocaine dealer and spending time in prison, I personally never have and never will "get over it," as some people say when they talk about moving on. Having been on The Hill at the same time as he was, and having watched his immense talent, I'll always be equal parts saddened and disgusted at the choices he made, and from which his life has never truly and totally recovered, to this day.
Bray has done nothing remotely approaching this, to be crystal clear, but regardless, another positive that can come out something like Tyler's time at UT and T-Rob's, is a cautionary tale; the message of the T-Rob story is obvious, but Tyler's case is an example to all current players and recruits that no matter how much talent you have, this is what happens if you think you don't have to put in the time and effort. I'll promise you Butch is using Tyler as this example, even though he's rooting for him to succeed.
And in the end, IF Tyler for some reason DOESN'T get his poop together, I'll likely never forget it, and will always be saddened by it. He still has his shot though, and I'll be watching the Chiefs' preseason games w/interest. Maybe EB can light a fire under his arse.
Great find. Thanks +1
Hopefully in the future there will be no need to have such threads about starting QB's at the University of Tennessee!

I haven't had much to say on this topic. Mom always said if you don't have anything good to say maybe you shouldn't day it. Treat others as you like to be treated, and plenty of other clichés. I am indifferent to Tyler. He was the starting quarterback at Tennessee. He never won a big game or a bowl game. He was immediately embraced during his freshman year because he looked to be a better option than matt simms. He made one real bone head decision with the beer bottles and he seemed to have a copasetic outlook during games. He seemed indifferent to success or failure. Now does that mean he is. I have no idea. I am not Tyler Bray so I will never know. I am just a guy who loves Tennessee football and wishes all of our past players well. Go Vols
There are only four answers to any question: Yes, No, I don't know, or the Correct Answer.
Really good read. It's always nice to know what others are saying. Sometimes we know better because we're closer to a given player's situation, but sometimes, we have trouble being objective about our own guys, too.
Great point , he's a VFL and everyone should treat him like it. Mistakes-yes, perfect-no but he's a VOL and will represent us in the NFL so I agree wish him well and move on. I'll be rooting for him I 'll guarantee that!
