Who? Brian Kelly
Why? He has Notre Dame competing for a national championship when nobody other than Lou Holtz thought he could. He's only making $1.48M/yr. He is a proven winner and a proven recruiter.
I'm gonna start my own thread about it!
We will get a great coach hart knows what we have to offer. Hamilton should be beaten for what he did. Kiffen jumping ship then hiring a unproven coach with no ties to ut. This is a dream job,a destinaton job not a stepping stone. Hart knows and respects this and the next coach should too. We can be a national power with the right man.
First, I want to caveat this by saying that in no way has Basilio seen any mythical "list." He's a used car salesman in the worst, most stereotypical way.
Second, I would say no way do we get Lovie when he has the second best record in the NFL. Gruden seems much more likely and I'm very skeptical of those rumors.
Butch Davis - why is his name even being mentioned? I'll also say this - if UT hires Petrino I will personally burn all UT memorabilia, clothing, etc. and become a hardcore Bama fan. That's how much I dislike that man. He was a dirtbag when he left the Falcons and he proved to be nothing more when he was at Arky.
Brian and/or Chip Kelly - not happening for obvious reasons.
I'd say the most likely candidates to be UT's head coach next year are Dooley, Gruden, Smart, Mullen, and Tuberville. Just mho.
I think Gruden would be a home run hire. Mullen is a step up from Dooley. Cutcliffe isn't flashy, but I think he'd do a great job. Dorien(sp) at NIU seems good, but he is unproven. I wouldn't be surprised if he is on Kentucky's list.

Mullen, Strong, Golden - what have they done to impress? Not enough for me to can CDD.
If I was Golden, I couldn't get away from Miami fast enough. The NCAA investigation still looms with little to almost no fan support at games....
Probably true but winning at Temple against crappy competition doesn't turn me on
That's because you have no idea how bad Temple is, not to mention the area is a horrible area of Philly, parents don't want there kids to go there.
Temple Football was the laughing stock of college football from 1990 until Golden got there. From 1990 until 2006 there record was 38-151... That is abysmal. They don't have there own stadium, and the stadium they do play at is 7 miles from campus. What Al Golden did in that short span was nothing short of miraculous.

Still doesn't prove to me he can be successful in the SEC. Apples to oranges comparison. Unless we hire a proven winner at the SEC or higher (NFL) level then as far as I'm concerned it's a flyer hire. No thanks.
