I wonder if Jones will look at keeping that. I know it's not a big deal especially since I think the running game will improve vastly with CJG still on staff.... Just wondering if that package becomes obsolete now.....
Hope not. Pretty successful overall and it's one more thing opponents have to prepare for. Hope it stays in the play book.
You do not simply tell AJ Johnson the beast package is dead. One short yardage failure and AJ will insert himself.
It will be interesting to see what they will do in short yardage...I don't know enough of how they coached it in those situations. I am starting my research now and his OC seems very much a forward thinking coach, very studious about offensive football. Gonna go watch some UC football this off season and do some scouting.
Just my opinion I think it won't happen next year, hopefully we won't have a need for it and it interferes with the tempo of the no huddle. Just my opinion.
I just don't really think we have much need for it. I think we ran far too many gimmicky plays this year.
Would like to see it stay.
Who is man enough to tell The Beast that he will not run the ball?? If The Beast wants to score touchdowns The Beast will score touchdowns!

Vol fan in Cincy...
Bearcats had a few formations where they would snap to Isaiah Pead. So I'd look for them to keep the Pig Howard formation. Not sure if they will utilize the Beast as well but I wouldn't see why not if it works in short yardage situations.
"Old School"! A strong defense wins championships!
