I hadn't seen these prior to retweet
Photoshopped, if you look really closely everything about all four of the pictures is exactly the same except the color of the helmets. Also if you look at the colors of the helmet the colors don't reflect the light or have any depth. At least that is how I see it
Absolutely right, BUT doesn't mean they weren't photo shopped for the coaches to check out the designs for a few alternate jersey styles this year.....or am I hoping too much? Lol!
Silly season is upon us.
Fun fact: those are Cincinnati's alternate helmets from last year.

yeah how many times is this gonna be brought up?
No curvature to the "T" either... def photoshop
Here's the original pic of them
Here's hoping that Jones understands things like space helmets might have been necessary to draw attention at Cincy but not at Tennessee.
I suspect he gets it. He keeps saying "there's only one Tennessee."
You sir, are on top of things. +1
I hated them before now I hate them even more knowing they're a Cincy knockoff.
Exactly, Bama hasn't had any trouble recruiting with their uniforms. Time to stay Tennessee and drop the fashion wishes.
They could have at least photoshopped the ones in the background too so it wouldn't be so obvious.
I will tell you that the black matte helmet that has circulated some is real and Butch wants to wear it one game. I don't think he will win the helmet battle but we will have "alternate" jerseys that we wear every now and then.
I've seen this before. All I can say is let's hope these aren't for real.
"Give him six" "We don't give a damn about the whole state of Alabama" "Grit N Grind"
Couldn't agree more with this. Don't need to fancy new jerseys to win football games.
At the same time I won't be upset if they did bring one out, just don't think it's necessary. I definitely don't want the helmet to ever be changed.
I consider myself a purist with the whole uniform discussion, BUT two things:
1) probably my favorite moment in Neyland last ten years was when I saw the guys lining up in the tunnel in black on Halloween in '09 and 2) I'm not gonna lie those top two helmets look pretty cool.
Well, I'm hoping for it, too, but my fear is that he may be tempted by the fact that 17 year olds recruits the size of two normal full-grown men, but with the mental maturity of 10 year olds, will make a decision on where to play ball based on whose unis are the shiniest.
I haaaaate Penn State, but they have by far the best unis in college FB, IMO. That said, I predicted that within 5 years of JOPA's firing, they'd change 'em, or start the watering down by introducing "alternate" unis. I hope I'm wrong.
"Bling" should be NFL, not college. JMO.
"Bravely taking to his feet, he beat a very brave retreat." Sir Robin's Minstrels.
I respect the opinions of those who disagree with me in general on the uniform issue, but in looking at your "two things," you can consider yourself a purist if you want, but you aren't if you believe them.
In other words, if you DON'T believe in purists' views, and consider them to be old codgers, then that's a consistent view to hold along with your other two opinions, but purists just don't think those thoughts.
Admit it; you've gone over to the dark side.
Indeed. And the DH rule sucks, and there are no basketball Wizards in Washington, D.C., only Bullets, baby!
And now we have the May thread about alternate uniforms and helmets. Since this one occurred early in the month and its still 4 months to the season we have an excellent chance of achieving two alternate uniform threads this month. In fact, if we get to Memorial Day without another one I'll probably start it myself just for the hell of it.
I hear you but because UT let its program go stagnant, sticking to its old traditions and not embracing the new, we're here today.
Had UT kept up with the College Football environment on and off the field during Fulmer's last years, we would not be here.
I embrace changes. Bring it on!
And for those who know soccer:
UT hit the skids because Fulmer's recruiting classes became busts as his players flunked out, flamed out, got arrested and generally underachieved. He was slow to discipline players and stayed loyal to underperforming coaches.
It had exactly zero to do with jazzy jerseys, freaky helmets, hip hop music and other extraneous foolishness.
+1 jerseys and helmets have zero to do with anything.
