Just a heads up that he just confirmed to me that he has officially decommitted from Tennessee. I think the writing has been on the wall since the A&M offer

Any chance he would have stayed if Dooley's job was secure or was he going to A&M once he got the offer regardless of the situation at UT?
If UT would've had a better year it would've made it tougher on him but an A&M offer was always going to be hard to beat with them in the SEC now
With Miles off the board, TN falls to 26th in the rankings.
Not a surprise and I can't blame the kid. I think Texas has to be condiered a long shot in the future, unless the kid has ties to Tennessee. I don't want A & M's and Texas' leftovers. There is enough talent to fight for that we have a better chance at in GA, FL, NC and VA to go along with the homestate kids.
We all shouldnt worry about 'rankings' right now. It's all but literally 'said and done' that Dooley is done at UT, and when we name a new head coach (which will obviously be better than CDD), the recruits will have to listen. Losing Kam is not a big deal, and we will recover.
Tennessee still has a certain cache with Texas kids, despite the troubles on the field. There is a mystique about the SEC. However, A&M joining the SEC combined with the Aggies unexpectedly having a solid season has made them a force in recruiting. The Vols can still get some solid players out of the state of Texas, especially if there is a new coach that players will want to play for.
Thanks for the info Brian. Not too much of a surprise at this point. Good luck to the young man in his endeavors. It's really difficult (at this point) to get upset about losing commits. I certainly don't want to lose them, but I get it.
He didn't waste any time. He committed to A&M tonight.
