THIS is the most level-headed approach i have heard from a True Vols Fan. We're in a rut right now guys, but we have a staff that is accustomed to winning and won't settle for mediocre results. With the energy i'm feeling thus far Neyland stadium will have 80,000 for the Orange and White game. We're on the right track folks!
From Carolina to Tennessee, Rocky Top is always Home Sweet Home to Me!!!
Nobody is writing them off, we just have doubts. What do you want us to do close our eyes and wake up on August 30th? I know the name "Butch Jones" has absolutely zero pull for 5 star recruits. The assistant coaches will have to be the one's who INITIALLY reel in the talent...
I'm not going to blindly follow the leader and close my eyes like tons did here w/ Dooley. What I'm ultimately frusterated with is we hired a coach who HAS to win to get elite recruits. We needed a guy (Like Charlie Strong) who could endure a bad year, but still recruit at a top level. We obviously don't have that and the pressure is on to win right away.
I lived smack dab in the middle of Bama from 05-08. I was amused at how illogical and delusional their fan base had become since their downward spiral after the 92 Title. It was pretty entertaining to listen to people call Pawl and no kidding cry because they were Bama and they should be good because they were Bama. I hate to say it, but many in our fan base has become this. I just hope Butch is the guy to deliver us from the Desert of Suckiness. But realistically, the "we are UT and we deserve to win" mentality is laughable to just about everyone outside of the Tennessee program and fan base.
