Interesting that News Sentinel did not choose to link this one.....

I like Wiedmer and what he speculates is possible but it is just like all the other speculation...enough truth to be interesting.
But, but, but...
This is NAILS, IMHO.
I think attendance is as important as wins for CDD and the associated decision....
I would not want to be Dave Hart. I think he may want to give Dooley another year but the pressure may be too much.
People that aren't going to the game are apathetic and those of us who are going suffer from "battered fan syndrome". No matter how many times our abusive program hurts us, we keep going back.
I think it's just the opposite. I think he wanted to move already, but has been handcuffed a bit.
There is a 'battered fan shelter' close to the stadium. It's called Calhoun's Bar.
If I lived in near proximatety to Neyland, it would take hurricane sandy to keep me away.
But I think Wieds is spot on......
If Hart is not going to voice his support for Dooley, he may as well let him go. Lack of that vote of confidence offers little help to the current coaching staff on the recruiting trail. I am not suggesting that Dooley has earned any such support, but the dark cloud of uncertainty hanging over Knoxville effectively ties the hands of the staff.
A recruit should commit to the university and not the coach, but that recruit has be be able to determine if their skillset is a good fit for the program.
Why unless you can bring in a monster name?
How many coaches would draw good attendance next year if we were 7-5 or 6-6? After a big loss to Oregon and a loss at UF, I have trouble seeing our fanbase not quitting on the team again.
Fanbase hasn't quit, IMHO. Our attendance relative to others is still strong. However, fan base must aw a reason for hope. Tennessee's record in SEC shows little reason to hope that this staff can lead the recovery. We are watching the most talented offensive team in quite sometime not maximize its potential due to horrid defense.
Very good post. I am still not convinced that Hart came to Knoxville with an agenda that didn't include Dooley. Pure speculation on my part but he has not helped recruiting with his aloof behavior. He should have endorsed Dooley last year if he was going to keep him. Firing is always available to the AD, endorsement notwithstanding.
As a fan and someone who goes to 2-3 games a year I think us as fans should know what the Hell is going on. If Hart is behind Dooley let's get behind Hart if he's not tell us. You won't accomplish anything by not informing. If your waiting to see if we win the next four games, Hell we should and should have won a couple at least one of the others. He doesn't know what the Hell to do just like everyone else. Damned if you do Damned if you don't.
+1 for the most uses of the word hell in a single post.
BUTCH IS NOT FOR THE FAINT OF HEART. GO VOLS!
