I am guessing (hoping) that the GT contact is more or less a courtesy call due to his relationship to the former Auburn coach. Surely the allure of playing in the premier conference is the nation puts Tennessee and Auburn ahead of Clemson and possible Ga Tech.
Isn't Lawson a fairly good friend with one of Tennessee's recent commitments? If so, can commits continue to contact other prospects during the dead period without violating any NCAA rules?

I had just read a story last night that stated it was more of a courtesy visit. Lawson's dad played for GT apparently.
Loosing a recruit to GT wouldn't hurt nearly as bad as loosing a recruit to Azusa Pacific. Well, missing Lawson would actually hurt very very bad. Never mind...
Yeah, he's friends and former teammates with WR Ryan Jenkins who has definitely been in Lawson's ear. I think ESPN recently had an article talking about that. I'll see if I can find it.

I believe it was Lassiter.
