I know I know you guys don't want any more Yankees in your state, but this Philly guy is moving out...
I need recommendations on places to live for a 25 year old who likes to do what 25 year olds do. Probably going to live with some random person, looking to spend 500-600 in rent. Is this possible? Where is the best places to live. So I can begin searching. Thanks again.
East Nash is pretty neat and is On The Rise. I have a few friends there that pay about that now. And then if you could find something in 12th and South region is also really neat, pretty hipstered out and not sure prices in that area could be more. Welcome back/to God's County, Tennessee.
You have no idea what I would do to pay 500-600 per month for a place to live (disclaimer - I am farther north than you, so it may be possible). Good luck on the move Drizz.
Lots of hip areas popping up around Nashville. I sadly dont have specifics for you, but I know it's a great city to be in as a young professional. A bunch of UT MBAs are moving there. Does this mean we get to hang out with Drizzy sometime now??
Why Nashville? Job move? Just curious...
I can work from home with the job I have. I want to go somewhere warmer and Nashville is an emerging city (from what I read at least) I'm probably going to look at areas in April/May
I live in the Bellevue community and it's very nice here. You might have to pay a little bit more for apartments around here, but you have everything you need, and you're only about 15 minutes from downtown. Lived in Bellevue for 17 years and I've loved every minute of it.

You being a 25 year old and wanted to be around other people your age doing the stuff 25 year olds do you have to check out the apartments in the gulch! It is a very trendy area where a lot of young professionals live and play
I lived in Nashville three separate times for about a combined 15 years. For that rent price your going to want to look at east Nashville, 12th south area, maybe sylvan park area. West end is nice and close to the bars but also home to many a candy fan. A little further out of town would be Crieve hall off Harding road. Decent area with easy access to the rest of the city. It's very affordable. I'm not sure what kind of scene your looking for but there is many a different one in Nashville these days. When your ready for good places to eat let me know, my entire family has worked in food service in the area since I was a child. I can turn you onto some very good eats no matter your preference.
Thanks for all the information... I'll bump this thread in April when I spend a weekend down there getting more info.
I live South of Nashville in Franklin which is great town but not as small as it used to be. For your age, i would say looking at East Nashville, Sylvan Park or even at some of the newer Condos in the downtown/Gulch area. Cool Springs has some condos and such but not the night life of Nashville.
Great town. Wish I could help you on the 25-year-old hot spots. I'm much more up to speed on the 42-year-old with three kids areas.

Almost the same here
Franklin is a great area for a 38 year old married guy with a 6 year old son!!!
I'd go with the Vanderbilt/Music Row area. I'm not sure what the rent is. Lots of good bars in that area. If you're looking to save money by going farther out, I'd go west. Bellevue is a nice safe area. I'm not really into the hipster scene, so I might not be the best person to give advice.
If you decide to move to Knoxville here's a nice little piece of property. I hear the owner makes darn good money so he may be willing to cut you a deal!
Former Tennessee Volunteers football head coach Derek Dooley is selling his Knoxville mansion. See photos of the $2.9 million estate at REALTOR.com.
I can't recommend places to live, but I can recommend the Flying Saucer as the best beer bar in the area.
If you can find something in green hills for that money that is a pretty good place...east Nashville as well. Just stay away from north and south Nashville.
