Our staff must either be smarter then the rest of the SEC, or is just conceeding we can't land enough elite talent to keep up with the big boys. Two players from Miami w/o a Miami offer.
I know stars aren't everything, but I must confess I am ready to go after some 4 and 5 star guys --- preferably some that are really fast. GO VOLS!
I completely understand everyone's hesitation about low/mid-ranked prospects but I have never been much of a "star-gazer." Some times the rankings are right (AJ Johnson) and sometimes not so much (Jacques Smith). At the end of the day, there are far too many talented HS players not to have parity in recruiting rankings. Our coaches know MUCH more than I do about talent evaluation so I will defer to their judgment. JMO, if the kid can play then extend the offer.
