It took a while to actually get to someone to cancel but it's done. I had kept the account because of a handful of posters but I was tired of clicking on the ignore button. I appreciate debate and differing opinions but not immature name calling, put downs and such. I was never the victim directly but it's tiresome to wade through all that stuff. I hope the mod's here never let that happen. I know some of the other 247 sites aren't as civil as 'The CheckerBoard'. Thanks for letting me vent. Go Vols.
Glad youre here! You bring a lot to the dialogue here. Checkerboard is a great place to disagree without being disagreeable. Hope it always is.
"Count it down with me. Five, four, three, two, one.
The national champion is clad in Big Orange!"
Did it a long time ago : ) good choice
That board is a glorious mess right now. The guy from 8th who is behind the "GRUDEN'S DONE!" schtick posted last night and got folks into a tizzy.
Tos is very hard to deal with. I haven't been there in a loooooooooooong time.
That place is a train wreck
Tried TOS for a bit and couldn't find a descent conversation for anything. I'm addicted to the CheckerBoard though.
I like Hubbs and Co. but they've let to many people get by with things that should have gotten them perma-banned. The flaming wars are a disgrace over there. You have to go through an act of congress to get your account canceled, which should never be the case.
What's hilarious and indicative is my cancellation confirmation number from the girl I talked to is different from the one I got by e-mail. There may be a reason but even if there is it indicates a cumbersome and redundant system. I like Hubbs and some of the guys also but they let this happen.
I cancelled mine when I just couldn't handle it anymore. Thankfully, I found this site and can't say enough good things about it. Sometimes, I still go over there to read the headlines to just see the ridiculousness.
I guess I'm just spoiled. This is the only paid site I've ever been on. And the only one I ever plan on being on. Never even eavesdropped on TOS.
BUTCH IS NOT FOR THE FAINT OF HEART. GO VOLS!
Day 1 member over here and joined Hubbs site last week. Different flavor for sure but good information. I post a lot less here now and more over there.
Not about the money. I do enjoy the unfettered approach to the Vols and the lack of downvotes for contrary opinions on that site. They also acknowledge a vibrant coaching search through other channels even though Dools is in place......
This is a great board with great posters and I'll post more over here again later but I am enjoying Hubb's site during the chaos and turmoil.
I rarely post there. I like the guys at VQ but it does tend to be a cesspool. I'll probably decide after recruiting is over whether to keep one, both, or neither pay site. I honestly waste too much time on them and if we hire some a crappy coach I'm probably going to have a UT sports detox for a while.
However if we hire a good coach I'll probably be more rabid than ever. And by good I mean someone with a track record who hires a good staff and seems to be competent. Or Gruden.
TOS has more insiders than any I've seen on any message boards. I like the gladiator style of VQ board but that's me.
