Greetings from the General's House, where it's a beautiful day for some football.
Just got back from hoops practice at Pratt Pavilion, and Ryan and I are getting seated and getting ready for the game.
Let's do this.

Any "special" visitors at the game Wes, like a Hall of Fame QB that's a VFL?
Your team. All the time.
LSU wins toss, defers. Tennessee will receive and defend the north goal.
Almost go time...
Good kickoff return by Young and a couple of decent runs on first and second downs, but Simms' first pass — intended for Da'Rick Rogers in tight coverage — fell incomplete. Three-and-out for Tennessee.
Interesting, but not totally surprising, to see Devrin Young get the second carry of the game.

Big first run by LSU.
Good runs to start! Commit Vols. Commit and stick with it.
Good start defensively.
Nice stop by Tennessee's defense after a good run on LSU's first play from scrimmage.
Young hauls in a fair catch on the punt without incident. First-and-10 for the Vols from their own 19 with 11:15 left in the first quarter.
We run best (a relative word) out of the traditional I formation. No special sets, etc.
Good start by the defense there. One big run, then a bunch of stops.
Totally agree. Important for Vols defense to get off the field quickly.
Play action here and a shot down the field?
DY is the spark we've been missing on returns!
Lots of Devrin Young sightings early on. Nice dumpoff there by Matt Simms, and Young had plenty of room to run.
Nice spark on the pass play, too.
Poole cant do that as a senior.
Costly penalty there on second down, but a nice third-down draw run by Marlin Lane. Fourth-and-1 at the LSU 46, and it looks like the Vols are going for it.
mistakes, mistakes, mistakes.
btw, refs missed a facemask on Lane.
Looks like the officials missed a facemask on the Lane run that would have given the Vols a first down.
Killer false-start penalty there by Dallas Thomas. The officials announced it as being on Alex Bullard, but I believe it was Thomas who moved.
Matt Darr on to punt now.
