Our defense is horrible
Don't blame you. That injury kind of put things in perspective.
I am having a lot if trouble as well. I think the players on each side are too
It was a well-designed play, with the receivers all bunched together on the right side. Tough to defend that one. But when you're defending a quarterback like Shaw, I think you have to have someone lined up outside the tackle on that side on a play like that. At least try to make him throw it or, in that case, pitch it.
Stevie Wonder can see the holes in our Defense!
Terry Fair ^^
Can u get down to the field and coach the second half?
IMO you have to at least have an outside LB line up wide with that formation.
I wished we played Texas this year. The score would probably be 75-72
"Old School"! A strong defense wins championships!
Yeah, I think it's easy for fans forget that all these guys on rival teams sort of have their own brotherhood. Of course, Corey Miller and Lattimore go way back. With few exceptions, no player wants to see another guy's livelihood taken away by injury or misfortune. Most of these guys are playing football as their primary means to advance themselves and get an education, and it's just tough to watch anybody feel like their dreams are being crushed with one unfortunate play. I think that touches everyone, no matter which colors you wear.
Why do we keep making excuses for our defense? I understand everyone trying to be logical and give the players the benefit of the doubt. BUT LOOK! This is TENNESSEE not Vandy or Kentucky! This is TENNESSEE and TENNESSEE doesn't let crap like that happen!!!! I think people are trying to look for the small things that are improving instead of calling out the stupid HUGE mistakes that have continued for 3 years now! Apparently Dooley doesn't know how to fix these mistakes and make things happen! This is saddening! I hope he can turn things around in the second half but history is most certainly to repeat itself!
Sad thing is they are playing very very little 3-4. Most of that first half they were playing with 4 down linemen. They are just horribly coached on defense. That last TD was a perfect example of the players didn't have a chance to win that play. Spurrier owned Sal on that call I mean he bent him over and ...........
My heart truly sank when I saw it. Really puts things in perspective.
I just hope it isn't nearly as bad as it looked.
1 Corinthians 16:13 Be watchful, stand firm in the faith, act like men, be strong.
i felt like at the start of the yr. the D was going to have trouble but we are getting worse. there is no way that is not coaching. no improvement anywhere that i can see
GO BIG ORANGE!!!
The contain crashed down. I'm not defending Sal's body of work, but he can't go out there and play for them.
Let's face it. This team is snake bit and poorly coached.
If we are not beating ourselves, the officials help out. First there was the horse collar call, and then the no call on the intentional grounding pass thrown by Shaw. We had an 11 yard punt, and a 25 yard punt. We get them in 3rd and goal from the 26 and let them score. We have the ball 3rd and 1 and get a false start call.
I guess this is what we've come to expect and the reason I no longer scream at the TV. I long for the day when I can get excited to watch and see us compete. This team looks like Kentucky, Vandy, or worse. Those who think the next 4 are wins are kidding themselves.
