Exactly right Ryan. Some people forget that just because these guys happened to pitch in pros, they still had to do it all just to get there. These guys were all probably the best players on their high school and college teams playing both ways. Trust me, pitchers can hit. Carlos Zambrano, Tim Hudson, just to name a few.
I'm also a National League guy myself. There's so much more strategy involved just because of the pitchers hitting. Pinch-hitting, bunting, intentional walks, bullpen matchups, even pinch-running, can all come into play during that one at-bat. Much more intriguing, IMO.
Agree there. NL from a strategy point is better. I like offense and the dh. Always have. But in the post season the strategy does get intense.
Buster on ESPN after the last Upton trade said The braves now had the best outfield which surprised me. Also said the braves, if not already, are close to the team to beat. Which has me excited but means I am in for a let down given the way my teams have been going. Vols, Braves, Redskins.

I don't know the payroll for World Series winners but beside the Angles in 02 the other AL teams had high payroll. Might just be me but seams like all the AL teams are 100 million teams.

Martinez, Varvaro, Avilan, Walden, O'Flarhety, Venters and Kimbrel. Potential for best bull pen of all time?
Better than Maddix, Glavine,Millwood, Perez, and Smoltz? With Rocker closing. Which i really don't care to much for him. I don't know if the current rotation is better that the 99 rotation, I mean 3 #1 ace starters and Millwoodwould be a #1 on a handle full of teams.
Bull pen my friend. Those guys were starters.
Correct I didn't read I to your post! My apology. noticed that after I posted. Was going the edit.
I dunno about best of all time. They haven't been together long enough IMO.
I feel like us Braves and Vol fans would agree that both of our teams just can't seem to catch a break. I could see our offense being amazing or striking out a lot. I'm also not convinced our starting rotation is as reliable as some think it will be. I'm also interested to see if Kimbrel can be as near as impressive as he was this year.
You gotta admit the Braves are closer to being there than the Vols!
I loved the '90s when both were gunning for championships.
