Gonna by some tickets for the race in a few weeks, anybody got a section to recommend. This will be my first trip there, pretty pumped.
In general, seats at many race tracks — Bristol in particular — are viewed exactly the opposite from tickets in other sports: the higher, the better. A higher seat at Bristol gives you a good chance of being able to see the entire track, while sitting down low can block your view of the opposite turn or straightaway, depending on how low you are.
It's a great place to watch a race, though. I've been there twice and enjoyed it both times. You can't go wrong with almost any seat there.

There is not a bad seat in the house- as long its not obstructed view.
I sat in turn 3, ten rows up last fall and they were excellent seats
Unlike other tracks there is not a bad seat in the place. I have sat all around the track and my favorite is in turn two from row 10 to 25. Make sure to take ear plugs because the noise is constant and loud. If someone is going with you there won't be much conversation except during stoppages in the race. I go to the August race. VVVVRRROOOMMMM and enjoy.
You can spot the rookies- they will be pointing at every car that gets bumped and gets loose.
Bring plenty of beer and be prepared to walk.
Just ordered my tix, I will be in Richard Petty Section B Row 19. Really looking forward to this fellas, nothing like getting hammered before noon. Thanks for all the advice.
To all you Bristol vets, can you tailgate just about anywhere? I'd like to set up a little tent and grill, and drink for a while.
You definitely want to be up high at Talledega. Bristol I actually prefer being low tho.
You can sit anywhere at Bristol and see the whole track. I worked over at the track two years ago doing electrical when they lowered the infield. They made it to where you can sit on the first row and still see the whole track with no problem. I sat on the 2nd row for the August Nationwide race two years ago and I thought it was a great seat-that is JMO though.
Your team. All the time.
That's a very good point. The last time I went, I sat about 20 or 25 rows up and didn't have much of a problem seeing the entire track. I'm thinking more about the first time I went there.
Better racing- Bristol
Better Party- Talladega
The quality of racing at Bristol isn't what it used to be. Ever since they widened the track, the racing sucks IMO. Bristol went from being the best track on the circuit to just another race. I know a lot of people who have had tickets to Bristol for years, including myself, who give them up because the quality of racing doesn't justify the ticket prices anymore.
I agree - I liked when they had to bump to get around- the progressive banking sucks!
The progressive banking was the worst idea ever for that track. Martinsville is more entertaining now... and that track is basically flat. Of course the dreaded aero push pretty much has killed the excitement in NASCAR over the past ten years.
They have tried to turn the whole series into what IROC used to be. Bad ideas galore!
