Just a fun little discussion for the baseball lovers.. Who would you build a franchise around? Both players are playing outstanding right now! And Harper just hit a MONSTER bomb
Harper. Loving having that guy on the Nats.
Merge - Jk
With all due respect to Bryce Harper, the 19-year-old Washington Nationals outfielder is not even close to the best player who cans being outshined on a nightly basis by a player who is only one year his senior, and was drafted 24 slots lower than the former first overall pick. That player is Los Angeles Angels outfielder Mike Trout, a once-in-a-generation kind of talent who, at...
Trout at the moment because he's on my fantasy team. His numbers are better too.
Going into tonight....
Mike Trout's stat line....
Avg .354 HR 6 RBI 26 Runs 35 SB 15 OBP .412 SLG .565 OPS .977
Bryce Harper's stat line....
Avg .295 HR 6 RBI 18 Runs 29 SB 4 OBP .381 SLG .527 OPS .908

I also just think Harpers head could get to him if he isn't careful
How old is Trout
Trout for me.
Your team. All the time.
20. You can't go wrong either way. Id go Trout (barely) just because I like the speed and defense he brings. Harper's no slouch there either, but Trout has the edge there. Harper's got the edge in power.
This is really a tough call. IMO, right now Trout is the better player, but when I watch Harper and see the bat speed he generates it amazes me. Harper's arm is already considered one of the best OF arms in the league and no team will test him. That is a part of the game that most people overlook. I have watched both closely this year and Trout seems more mature and seems to already be a team leader. Harper has sparked the Nationals and I believe his teammates genuinely like him. He is saying and doing all the proper things and seems to be the ultimate team player. His past history seems to indicate this is not his true personality, however we all were 18 once and I would hate to think my behaviors at that age were what people judged me on later in life. Being a true baseball fan, I look forward to watching both of these young men continue to improve. It should be good for baseball.
