Going down next week for vaca, things to do? Places to eat?

Club LaVila is good if it's still there. Spinnakers too, but it's a lot like G-Burg/Pigeon Forge except with a beach. Don't know if you're making it a family vacation or a party one, but it's not too bad a place for either.

The Old Florida Fish House - good food and live bands. The Firefly at Pier Park is also good. Captain Anderson's is a good place to eat. Spinnaker's is a good place to go for drinks and food.
Shipwreck Island is a great water park for the kid in all of us. Pier Park has lots of other restaurants and shopping.

Go to Orange Beach or Destin if possible.

PC beach is a good vacation place for families and just adults. I live about 90 miles north of PC beach in lower AL, we go there quite a lot with friends that own condos there.
It's the one of the last few weeks before school starts back- fighting off all the rednecks is not my idea of Vacation!
Schools don't start down here until 20 August and I have never had to fight off many rednecks, but then again I am from east TN so I must be one.
Thanks for the downvote though.
A lot of schools here start the first part of August.
I live in Destin and the schools here don't start until August 20th. PCB, however, is a different county, so I am not sure what their schedule is, but it won't be too far off from that. Anyway, there are a lot of places near Pier Park to eat that are pretty good. A nice place (but very touristy ) is the Back Porch at Pier Park. There are a few places on Thomas Drive like Captain Anderson's and Hamilton's that are nice restaurants. I know Pineapple Willie's is also a place that a lot of people eat when in PCB. It's been a pretty long time since I have been over there to eat (that wasn't fast food), so I am drawing a blank on much else.
I live in PCB, I would recommend going to captain andersons, los anjeitios, fire fly, pineapple willy's is horrible imo. And if you haven't went to wonder works its pretty neat (its the upside down building on the strip) and pier park is good.

I gave you a +1, not to worry!
I am going down next week too. I will be wearing all orange all day. Holler Rocky Top if you see me Rod. You doing any shows while your down there?
I love PCB too, its definitely an upgrade from what it used to be. Pier at the Park is awesome and has plenty of things to do and places to eat. Reggae J's is good, Margaritaville, Red Brixx pizza is really good. The only drawback I found was trying to find public parking. They have the main areas but you may have to drive around a few times till you find somebody leaving. I would get there early if your going to the beach and are not staying ocean front or close enough to walk. We were down there last year and just left our umbrella and chairs on the beach overnight as well as many other did. If you want to drive a little the dog races are up the road a few miles and a lot of fun as well. I will definitely be going back next year. If we did not have trips already lined up this year I would probably go this year as well. Definitely one of my favorites.
As far as Destin goes I liked it a lot better back in the day before it became so commercialized. It really does nothing for me anymore.
Staying at Treasure Island Resort Condo...thanks guys for all the input...
