I was chatting with in a board with OrangeVol79 about BBQ Cheese Fries. That was a combination that I had never heard of, and I thought that a food board would be a nice idea around here. I am sure that we all have different combinations to share with the board, and with the Super Bowl coming up I figured this would be a good time for this Discussion. Post your favorite eats, recipes, and if possible "Family Food Secrets" in here.
There are only four answers to any question: Yes, No, I don't know, or the Correct Answer.
The BBQ cheese fries you talk about, we call them Hickory Fries here in P.Town. It's freaking mouth watering fries ( with potatoe peeling still on) Beef, or Pork (your choice) smothered with cheese and topped with your choice of BBQ sauce, hot sauce or ranch or all three. I eat it most Fridays for lunch at work and it is good.
This one is easy.
Your team. All the time.
I can't upvote that picture enough
Holy cow. Amazing
What are those?
Is that your kitchen counter, in preparation for the game? Ha ha.
Somebody's a little fancy with the Graeters Ice Cream lol
No it's the anniversary present my wife is getting me.
Nice. My anniversary is next weekend. Maybe my wife can get me one of those. I doubt it, but I can hope. Congrats on the anniversary.
Piece of cake awesomeness.
I dump chocolate chips in a tortilla. Add some sugar, pinch of cinnamon. Fold in half, spread it out, all that jazz. Toast it lightly in a skillet on each side is enough to melt the chocolate. A little powdered sugar and you're set.
Makes my wife smile every time she sees me making them.
Awesome, Just awesome. Also inspiring. Do you lightly butter the Tortilla? or just use pan spray?
I have a modification on that recipe.
Worked at a local Knoxville place in college that sold them.
Slather peanut butter in a tortilla, put a banana on top of the PB, roll it up and fry it in a saute pan. Cut it in half, cinnamon sugar on top. Ice cream in between the two slices.
I once singlehandedly bought up the Skyline shelf at the Knoxville Kroger. All of the Knoxville Krogers.
All kinds of good stuff like that at cincyfavorites.com - I think is the site. Has LaRosa's stuff, too. Etc.

I don't butter it or spray. It doesn't take much time for me to get a slight browning on the tortilla and it gives me a slight melt to the chips inside...which is what I was looking for. I've thought about messing with it more, but I figure, why bother? I love it like it is.
I want to know more about the BBQ Cheese fries. Now.
OMG - I love Skyline Chili!!!!!!!!!!
Speaking of chili, I am making my award-winning (literally!) chili this weekend for the Super Bowl party at work. Got to start on it tonight so it's ready for the game. I might also be making sopapillas as well.

According to 79 it is BBQ pork shredded over curly fires smothered with nacho melted cheese with sour cream and BBQ sauce.
Y'ALL QUIT! You're making me hungry. OV79 would splain those chilis? Chili rellenos?
