Yeah, he was a different player after the yellow card.
I think Beasely stepped it up in the 2nd half, but that yellow early hurt. Solid performance by Bradley in the middle; never thought he'd develop into such an important role to the team. Guzan continues to develop nicely to continue a strong line of GKs for the US. Gotta get more O though...
Well Fabian Johnson is one of our top 5 players IMO. He is our LB, just injured now. I think he plays for Hoffenheim or Hannover one of them. We were missing Tim Chandler at RB to.
Idk if you watch much soccer but Beasley isn't a defender he used to play forward/midfield that was only his second start at LB and that's why Mexico was attacking him the whole game IMO for being that new at the position and being attacked for 90 mins; although he played sloppy at times and that we came out with a 0-0 draw he played great to me I was proud of him Mexico gave him everything he could handle and he still played strong. He could barely walk at the end of the game after getting fouled and hit that much
Ya I believe the announcer said we were missing 11 players that would be playing for the u.s. if not for injuries or other reasons
I hope in June that the US has their full arsenal available. Add Fabian Johnson, Chandler, and possibly Donovan to the mix and this is a pretty good team.
Another guy I'm watching is Agudelo. Didn't get the call up for this round, but it looks like he's starting to play pretty good for Chivas. If he's in form, he may be a guy who can add a lot to the team in June. We need somebody to step up who can score. Altidore can do it in Turkey, but doesn't seem to do much for the National team. Agudelo seems to have a knack for scoring with the National team, so maybe he can be that guy.
Jozy is in the Eredivisie in the Netherlands, not turkey.
Jozy's issues aren't about him, it's more about the creative issues in the midfield and up top that result in him not getting the ball in a position to score. Without that, he struggles but is still better than any other options we have up top. His style is not conducive to being able to make a bunch of guys miss and then score.
Brief lapse in thinking when I put Turkey.
Altidore probably is the best option at this point in time, but if Agudelo keeps playing like he is then that could change. Really hate that the deal didn't go down that would have sent him to Celtic. Would have been a very good team for him to go to and against better competition.
I watch a lot of soccer. Beasley played poorly. I don't blame the early yellow.
