From the Man U website:
Manchester United and Arsenal have reached terms on a deal that would see Robin van Persie move to Old Trafford.
Boom... goodbye noisy neighbors and good riddance
Are you a Spurs Fan? Jesus nothin worse then that.
Commence Rucker meltdown
Yep, meltdown is on, check out Rucker's tweet ---------->
I DON'T WANNA TALK ABOUT ROBIN VAN PERSIE LEAVE ME ALONE I AM VERY BUSY AND I HATE ALL OF YOU
RVP is 30 yrs old. He has played 1 full season in 7. It was just good business. We have added Giroud Podolski and Cazorla. We may also add Sahin or M Vila. Arsenal will be fine. Wonder boy Jack Wilshere will be back in October to. Gunner 4 Life!!
Podolski was a good pickup. He could score 15 + goals.
I tweeted Rucker and asked him not to jump off the bridge and he hasn't tweeted me back...
And for those who know soccer:
I DON'T WANNA TALK ABOUT IT LEAVE ME ALONE I AM VERY TIRED AND WORKING VERY HARD TO BRING YOU TENNESSEE VOLS NEWS AND DON'T WANNA HEAR ANYTHING ABOUT ROBIN VAN PERSIE

So what do you think about the Robin Van Persie news?
UTK, Class of 2009
Losing the reigning leading scorer in the prem league and the captain of the team to a title rival is not "just good business", that's a defeat. Sugar coat it all u want, but There is no part of wenger that likes losing his captain to united.
Would I have rather wanted him to go to Juventus of course. But if they are only offering 15 mill and Man U offers 24 you have to take the money. Arsenal can't spend like Man U, Man City, and Chelsea. It would be bad business to bring back an injury prone 30 year old for a 4 year deal making 200K a week. Arsenals squad is strong. Giroud led Ligue 1 in goals last year and Podolski is a proven scorer. When you add in Santi Cazorla who people have called the best player from Spain not playing in Spain you have a legit squad. I'm disappointed they haven't added a RB to fill in for Sagna but they will make due. Arsenal finish with more points this year then last.
United cant spend like city and Chelsea. Comparing French leading scorer to prem league is like the WAC and SEC. He was the captain. I understand tryig to rationalize this move, but it's not a good thing that another high profile superstar has bent wenger over in public by forcing a move. You can't just chalk losing the captain of your team up as good business. He was making 200k bc he was the best player on the team, leading scorer, and the captain. They got the best deal they could, that was the good business part, but losing your captain to a rival is not good for business.
RVP looks good as a Manc.
Please let us go after Jovetic now!
Van Persie will wear number 20 and United will win number 20 this year.
I'm actually shocked that United ponied up the money to sign him as they haven't been spending this kind of money the last couple of years. This is a great pickup and should make us very dangerous this year. I'm still holding out hope that United will add Axel Witsel, but not sure they have the money to do it. Would be a huge pickup to go with what they have already added. Now if we can get all of our defenders healthy because there just isn't many healthy bodies in the back at this time.
Glory, Glory Man United!
Stitch, I don't follow a lot of EPL, so this question may be a little bit juvenile. How concerned should Man U be with the defending League champions Manchester City? I know they came out of nowhere last season, do you think they have staying power or will they fade back into the pack?
As a big Man United fan I always expect them to win, but City will still be hard to beat. City just has a ton of talent. Unless I'm forgetting somebody they have only signed Rodwell from Everton, but really they don't need much. In terms of talent I think City is ahead of United, but City is more of a ticking time bomb with all of the ego's on their team.
I think the two Manchester teams are the odds on favorite, but Chelsea has added some good players and should be tough. Despite RVP leaving Arsenal I think they added some good players and could possibly be better than last year IMO.
I can't wait for the season to kick off tomorrow as it should be a good one.
Edit: I didn't address your question, but City definitely has staying power. With their talent and financial backing they will be at the top for a while.
