My wife's birthday is coming up on Feb. 10th and I have no idea what to do for her. She is turning 24 and we recently had a baby, so she is wanting to get out and act our age for once. Any ideas on what we can do around Chattanooga?
Is the Stone Lion still around?
Yeah I believe it's still there. I haven't been to chat in roughly a year so I am not 100% on that.
All kinds of fun stuff to do in downtown Chattanooga. There are multiple clubs that have live music. I like Rythem and Brews personally. You can check their website and see who's playing. Big River is a good place to eat and have drinks, and they are connected to one another. The karaoke place down there is fun as well. Many of nights we've went down to Chattanooga to just hang out for a bit and ended up stumbling home as the sun comes up.
Now that sounds like a plan. I don't think that you can go wrong when music and beer is involved. She was talking about wanting to try out Memphis, but I am not a huge fan of that city. I have been downtown Chattanooga several times and I always enjoyed it, but she has never been.
The main chef or one of them at Big River is a Knoxville native..
Drive to top of Monteagle Mountain and eat at High Point. Great food and all kinds of 1920s gangster history. Al Capone's hide-out between Chicago and Miami.
IMO, its hard to beat Big River Grill, especially if you like you some excellent Gordon Biersch craft beer. Get a room at the Courtyard by Marriott right across the street. If it's warm you can do a romantic walk along the river, and hit other great bars and clubs in easy walking distance.
I would take her Profino's for dinner, then Rock City's enchanted garden of lights, and grab Starbucks at Rock City on way in or out. There is one at the entrance of Rock City. If you haven't been at night or the daytime for that matter, the view is great, and actually can be as romantic as you wanna make it. Hope out of some of these ideas you get plenty of options.
Where do you live?
If you go to Chat I believe the TN Aquarium River Gorge Explorer resumes that weekend. That's a really awesome river cruise on a jet boat. Lots of fun.

Sugar's Ribs downtown has Blues music, and off the hook BBQ. Gotta have the Ribs! It has that "Memphis Beale St." vibe and Great Food!

I am now residing in Paris, Tn over in west Tennessee. After getting out of the military we moved here several years ago because of job opportunity. We are usually in East Tennessee pretty often, especially during football season.

If you're in Paris, St Louis is about the same distance. The river front is very nice there. Be sure to wear a Cubs cap while you're there;-)
I really got down voted for this?

So in other words I need to let her know that chivalry is not dead. Atleast for two nights out of the year, wedding anniversary is not far off. Haha
Thanks man! +1 back at ya
Haha we are in St. Louis quite regularly. We are HUGE cardinal fans!
