There has been a lot of talk lately about the UT/Adidas contract coming up soon. What would direction would you like to see UT go or what do you expect?
C. Under Armour
D. Russell Athletic
I would vote for Under Armour personally. I think it would be a huge draw for recruits plus I think they would do some great things with the greatest color of all ---ORANGE!!! Like my dad says...everything goes with orange!
P.S. it would be nice to be able to add polls to the boards....anyone know anybody with connections?
It won't be Russell as they can't pass around millions to bribe schools to use their stuff.
There are only four answers to any question: Yes, No, I don't know, or the Correct Answer.
Under Armor first
Agree with you ThePowerT has to be one of those. We should not go back to Adidas especially if major head coaches at UT do not want to be with Adidas

E. LA Gear
As someone who deals with all these brands on a daily basis in my business I think the Russell Athletic brand is a strong brand, now it's not as strong as it was in the 90s but its name still carries weight. Me personally I would love to see Under Armour or Russell, only because I love to wear UA and if UT gave Russell their contract I would bet Russell would rent a box in Neyland and I could watch a game in it. Also I like a lot of Russell's lines they currently have (they would look even better with a power T on it).
I personally love adidas gear for myself. To me it feels much lighter and not as thick. When I wear my nike athletic shirts i feel a little more weighed down than when i wear my adidas stuff. Also if we switch, i'll have to buy some new UT gear b/c i don't wanna be wearing outdated stuff like that. However, Nike is a great advertiser so I'd definitely be cool with either.
I don't really care but I keep reading about how much cache Nike carries with recruits. I'd be fine with Nike as long as they don't try to pull the Pro-Combat garbage they've done with other schools. The General will roll over in his grave if he sees our players dressed like UGA was in their Boise State game.
I'd also love UA as long as they don't get as creative with us as they did with Maryland. God, that's awful.
Nike.........and I have been talking to a booster that is thinking about donating the difference in money btw Adidas and what Nike would pay UT. He cant stand Nike and it does matter to more than we care to admit.
I would prefer Nike because I have seen plenty of really well designed shirts by Nike for other teams that would look great if there were Tennessee ones. With that said if we go to Nike we better not do a stupid pro combat jersey like the ones Georgia had against Boise State. There are ways you could make the jersey that would look good, so dont butcher it. I would kinda hate switching to Nike because I would have to buy all new stuff because i wouldn't want outdated stuff as well.

I'm an Adidas guy. Love the three stripes. Started wearing Adidas as a wrestler in middle school. Nike never bothered with the sport that put me through college. I'll stick with EB and Adidas!

1) I prefer Nike gear for myself.
2) More importantly: We should get what recruits want - which I think is probably Nike, Under Armor, and Adidas - in that order.
"Count it down with me. Five, four, three, two, one.
The national champion is clad in Big Orange!"
I like Adidas, but Nike would be okay. I don't like UA. Their stuff looks cheap to me and it almost seems like they try too hard with their football uniforms. Sometimes less is more.
I'm an Adidas guy too, but Asics will always be king of the wrestling shoe. I gave you a +1 just or being a wrestler (still the best sport in the world). I despise Nike for the crooked stuff they pull on the basketball recruiting trail, but I'm afraid they may be a necessary evil. I'll never by a Nike product that doesn't say UT on it, and if we go that way I'll go out of my way to buy UT stuff that's Cutter and Buck, Ping etc.

My thoughts exactly!
If you want basketball to be better you go with Nike. You will get better recruits automatically with Nike. Tennessee misses out on at least one upper level recruit a year bc they aren't a Nike school.
My vote is for Nike.
you don't rock your K Swiss??? +1 sir
I think it will either be Nike or Adidas. The school has too much history to go with Under Armor or Russell. Now that basketball is running solid years since CBP and now CCM, it would definitely benefit them to go with Nike for some of the 5 star players out there. Would be a big help.
Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves.
In all seriousness I would take Nike and then Under Armor, either one really would be an upgrade to adidas. IMO.
500. Everyone else
I personally prefer Adidas but when it comes to recruiting high school athletes UA and Nike have a far greater appeal.
No question, they are king of the mat. I just never could get into Asics. +1 to you, my friend.
