+1 for the laugh! It also looks like you were born in a good year!! haha!
Can you name one or more of those recruits? I don't like Adidas and feel the same way about Nike so one of the others by default.
Your team. All the time.
Nike or stay with Adidas. Under armor is terrible and Russell is for poor people. Nike is superior to all and makes the nicest looking gear.
1 - that is condescending and ignorant
2 - your name is Vol 4 Life for life
Is redundancy for poor people?
For the record, Russell is the sponsor of my alma mater (who is going to a bowl game this year) and several other schools.
Now that's funny. +1
Under Armour equipment is pretty bad...the jerseys and cleats just aren't as good of quality of NIke or Adidas, and their footballs are pretty terrible. Granted, Adidas's footballs are terrible too and thats why we still use Wilson. If we switch I would vote for Nike, because they have quality as well as style.
I wouldn't want something crazy but I would understand an update for the kiddos...
Keith Easterwood said on the radio he was taking a van load of recruits to Knoxville during Pearls tenure. He said he got a call from a Nike rep asking him what was going on he told them driving some kids to see UT on an unofficial visit. The rep said turn the van around and go to Memphis for the unofficials. Gary Parrish said one of the biggest reasons UT got Hubbs this year is bc he didn't play for a Nike AAU team.
Thanks for the info. These sports apparel outfits are a little too powerful for my taste. I'm sure the NCAA would look into it if they weren't getting their palms greased like so many others.
Speaking of apparel, here's a new T-shirt in the UT Bookstore.
Damn, more time is spent on this board worrying about uniforms that most girls spend on their prom dresses.
Another vote for Adidas. It's better quality.
It doesn't carry the weight in "coolness" that Nike has, but it's better stuff. I used to work at footlocker. I won't buy anything Nike. Ever.
I like UA stuff as well.
We could talk about our bowl game.......
At thi point, we have to go with Nike when our contract is over with Adidas, Nike is at the top of the sports world for apparel and lthe kids coming in love it.
Whichever company coughs up more resources for UT is who I'll back. Athletic supply is lucrative business for the universities and apparel brands. If it takes a couple of funky outfits per season to attract top-level recruits, bring 'em on.
From what I see, Nike has a better distribution network. Wherever I go wether it be a sporting goods store or the pro shop at the country club, Nike has such a huge presence. It's unbelievable how many of these places don't even carry UT stuff. Nike is everywhere and would probably make the school more money. How many times have you been in a place and seen tons of stuff for every other team and maybe 1 for UT? It's because Nike sells. Just do it.
